Community is a Blessing

article image placeholderUploaded by @shelovestolaugh
One dozen was vanilla, one dozen was chocolate, and one dozen was red velvet with cream cheese frosting. And I made a post on my town's Facebook group and said, hey, I'm needing to raise money for an event and this is the amount I mean to raise. I'm making cupcakes and selling them, and if you want to buy some and pay for them, then they are for sale. And I had six or seven people that agreed that offered to buy cupcakes

I love this. Your cupcakes look amazing. And I'm so glad that the community came out and supported you. I just love to hear those stories. And me personally, I think it was probably years and years ago when I was trying to get a play that I wrote to a festival and my friend who was is a fundraiser, she was like, you should put a GoFundMe and have people help donate. And I'm not sure if I can't remember if we did a GoFundMe exactly

I didn't hold out a lot of hope. I just made a post on Facebook and said, hey, I'm going to be making cupcakes to sell to get some money I need for an event I really want to go to. And I said, Would anyone be interested in buying some? I thought I'd have maybe two people. Again, that's usually my number is two, saying, yeah, I'll buy one for you. I said the price was $2 each
