Oh no! A no? Rejection Rage

article image placeholderUploaded by @Sheika_MC
Hey, hey, full family. It's Chica. And I just watched a very disturbing news clip about a young lady in Parkslope, Brooklyn, who she and her twin sister were assaulted. They were stabbed. One was fatally murdered, or fatally stabbed, rather, because they rejected a young man's advancement

Creating spaces for men, especially for men and boys to discuss their emotions, to get them out in healthy ways, to talk about relationships when they're younger. I think that's the only thing that I can really think of that could make a lasting, positive difference. But it's really terrifying. It's a terrifying thing to navigate. And just the fact that you never know

And it's getting to the point where women are like, just give them your phone number. If that will help you to get out of this exchange alive, then just give him your phone number. Get a google voice number and give him that number. You don't have to give him your real phone number. Just give him a phone number so you can get out of there

And when a man goes long periods of time with, without that female companionship, without that female attention, and then he finally gets it, he finally starts dating somebody, he finally starts a relationship with someone, and now he's getting that attention. They're going on dates, they're spending time together

A trigger gets set off, especially if he's got multiple other things going on in his life where he's not dealing, the suicide rate is through the roof right now, especially at high schools. And sure, yeah, Facebook and social media and TikTok and all those may have some sort of an impact on our youth mentality. However, it starts in the schools when they're face to face with friends and peers and what have you, and then it boils over into the social media

And then there were things I saw there that I had done that were highly unhealthy and should have been red flags when I hadn't noticed. And it was like, wow, we have to be taught this. And not just on the receiving end, but even on the giving end. They did a good job of teaching either male or female partner how to de escalate rage and types of unhealthy attachments and why they have these unhealthy attachment styles

And it's wild to me because I feel like all the beauty of that lovely, innocent in those types of things, being a girl, getting dressed up, going out, you're giggling with your friends, and you see a boy and he sees you, and you exchange numbers. All those lovely little nuances are now interlaced with fear. It used to be, besides, somebody trapping you for three songs in a row, somebody warning you, watch a drink

All of that's true. And that's not something my age group had to deal with in that developmental period. We're getting it now, and that's how we can look back. Like you said, a frog in a boiling pot. Like, what's going on? But that's all they've known. Man, this is so good. Thank you so much for responding. I know I dumped on more questions. I didn't mean to, but thank you

Aside from that, whether it's a girl boy problem or problems at home or something of that nature, because you are a teacher and I know that you're not just a teacher, if that makes sense. Anyway, I'm going to let you go now, but had to put that out there for you because it's true. You're a teacher of life. Bam
