Old Poets

article image placeholderUploaded by @SensibleEnsign
I'm going to read for you a poem called Old Poets. If I should live in a forest and sleep underneath a tree no grove of impudent saplings would make a home for me. I'd go where the old oaks gather serene and good and strong and they would not sigh and tremble and vex me with a song. The pleasantest sort of poet is the poet who's old and wise with an old white beard and wrinkles about his old eyes

Thank you, Susanna, for reciting this beautifully crafted poem that shows us the timeless wisdom and enduring power of the poetic voice. It is a homage to the great poets of the past and their lost influence on the world. Of literature and it emphasizes beautifully the ability to touch the depths of human emotions and unveil profound truths about life, love and human condition. The words used in the poem, they evoke a sense of nostalgia, creating a vivid image of a bygone era when these poets flourished
