Hey. Good afternoon. Swell. It's seng here and I'm casting from Morehead, Minnesota today. It's been a week, I think, since I last put out any podcasts here on Swell. It's just been a little busy. I apologize. I also lost the only coworker I had doing this three man job

What are your personal thoughts on gun control? (Please keep this appropriate and respectful) #askswell #questionoftheday #question

And I find that to be, most of the time, generally very misplaced and misguided feelings of irrational fear. That's just not the way that things go down. Right? And unfortunately, at this point, it has become such a part of American culture to own guns and to sort of wear that ownership as a badge of honor. And that's something that's going to take a long time to fight back against

But listen, so I'm all for people having protection, but I'm also for let our babies go to school in peace. Let them go to school in peace, and let there be measures put into place. Listen, I want to say the measures that are put into place for people that shoot people anytime, anytime. There's times when it's warranted, but that's a whole list. Right? But I'm talking about just it doesn't make sense. Murders

It just takes brave people, and I don't understand the lack of energy to do this. There are so many people that think negatively about the gun control in the US now, right, that think things should change, and yet they don't seem to want to push that change. Or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. I'd love to hear back on your thoughts on that. Do you feel that more and more people are looking to push the change?

There's no cops neither, you know what I mean? And these are real possibilities. I'm not talking about AI and that foolishness. I'm talking about real possibilities of these things happening. And we can't act like it's not happening and we can continue to mourn. But can you imagine the issues that would be brought up if that was to happen?

I come from Camden, New Jersey. It's been a murder capital of the United States. I mean, if it's been 50 years, it was 40 years. It was Camden per capita. Somebody dying in Philadelphia every day, and nobody's pushing to stop that because it's criminals killing criminals. Nobody's pushing to stop that. Let me tell you something. Nobody in the black community is even pushing to stop black on black crime

I mean, you don't have to sit down, just sitting down and talking about the consequences that are affecting the people around us by having such a broad freedom over something such as owning a gun or multiple guns. You had mentioned that Americans kind of wear it like a badge of honor that they own guns. But yeah, that's another thing I agree with you with, as well

You. Hey there. My name's Steve, and I've been sliding into the commentary here on Swell over the last couple days, and I just wanted to give my two cent on your statement regarding punishment for the crime of murder. I've got 20 years of experience within the criminal justice system, and I get the whole biblical tooth for a tooth and eye for an eye. The guilty must suffer pain equal to or greater than the misery that they caused

So I'm not going to do that with that level of data because it just doesn't make sense and it is an imbalanced conversation at that point, right? I'm coming to you and participating on this threat as a layperson and as an African American woman who is raising an African American son and the overall African American experience where just from my stance as a layperson at the end of the day, no matter what the crime is
