Gender pay gap: the unseen yet significant depths.

As I've mentioned previously, I'm reading this infuriating book called Invisible Women data Bias in a World Designed for Men. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the gender pay gap and maybe even some of the discussions that surround it. But what I've been reading of late reveals so much more depth and nuance to the pay gap than I even realized. You may have heard one of argument being made that women choose lower paying jobs, but that is not really the entirety of what's going on

But now, yeah, that brings to mind that I was not contributing to my retirement or Social Security. So, yeah, it is definitely messed up. Interesting book, though, it sounds like. I'm sure you probably share some more from this. And I did just want to add that when it comes to health issues and stuff, and women are working work and taking care of children and managing a household, and in my case, my children were sick, it's difficult

No, you're absolutely right. Living longer, but with more ailments. This is something that was also talked about in the book. I just neglected to mention it, but you're absolutely right. Wow. Just wow. Hearing your story from the car dealership causes me to reflect back on my past and what I was being paid around the similar time

Oh, I forgot to mention. Don't worry about the, ums or the brain fog. I experience that every so often myself. And it's frustrating, but not much we can do about it. Right. One other thing. An audio tip. This might help. I don't know. I just thought I'd throw it out there. Sometimes tilting the angle of the mic in relation to your mouth can of avoid having the puffs of air coming at the mic just so

Me that thankless job that women all do and knowing what we know about how little thanks there is for it and how it's expected, because we are the nurturers right infuriating infuriating that anyone could come up with any kind of an excuse for a gap that significant, a gap at all. Because we do work just as hard, if not harder. And you're going to get your people that are going to pipe up and say, but there is no but. There is no but
