And even though I wouldn't change the estrangement, knowing how much their pride and happiness would have meant to my brother, there's still an appreciation and an overflowing for him, for them, though they're not here. And it's such a strange thing to say, but I'm just so happy for my brother

Christina, this is absolutely beautiful. This is absolutely human. And what I am hearing from you is it sounds like this beautiful, blessed birth of this baby has birthed it so many more things that your brother, his wife and you, along with this sweet new human all get to explore and experience
I think you're absolutely right. You hear about new parents going through that process of wonder and deep appreciation and so on but I didn't realize it would have a similar impact on me, let alone with this distance. And yeah, who knew that this sort of connected but tangential connection could bring so many new thoughts, perspectives, explorations?
