Do we need an ethical regulatory org. for tech/science advancements & our humanness?

And are we creating that kind of thing when it comes to technology? I mean, going back to this neuralink, not knowing the full capabilities and yet inserting it into a human brain, what does this mean for the individual themselves? Psychologically, physiologically, relationally, if everyone starts to get these things, the ripple out effects, I think we almost need these different organizations to come into plays and maybe they're already in development. I don't know. So much to consider

Because history proves like every single time we have a new invention, some type of way, we always manage to find the worst possible ways to exploit it. And unfortunately, this is no different. We're seeing it with these different eye goggles that Apple is putting out. We're hearing it with neurological different advancements, the dynamics of space travel, people talking about things like blue Origin, that company that Jeff Bezos, I think, founded

But we do need something, and maybe we need something from outside the government as far as lobbying, something akin to the ACLU or some other advocacy group, where we have some really put some pressure on leaders and lawmakers when it comes to this issue. But like I said, I think it's thrilling and it's terrifying. And I think the technology, it becomes something that we worship instead of a tool that we can use

And it was like you lived in not a city, but in a corporation, boundaried space, like a corporation state or something. And how that influenced life for everybody else, not of the corporation, right. That we're just consumers. Yeah. So many warnings and Sci-Fi books and movies. It's still amazing to me that those things are dismissed. On the other hand, you look at politicians, they're elected every two to four years, and that turnover doesn't really happen

And if we continue to kick the can down the road, as I was saying to Harvey, if we're kicking the can down the road, we're not even going to be able to get running speed to be able to jump on that treadmill. To mix a whole bunch of metaphors there. I'm a little encouraged to hear that Facebook is talking about noting when something is AI generated versus not

It. Yeah. I really like what you had to say here. And it makes me think about the point you made where our leaders are just too old and out of touch and don't have any idea of what's going on. But then I even think about the populace. Lately, I've been just looking, especially in this current political climate, we have two people that are running for president that are, wolf, fully underqualified or inept to do it

If we don't shed light on what's been done, what's happened, and create recognition of an admission of what's happened, like just looking at the civil war, for example, and how so much of that was shoved under the carpet to the point where people don't even think that the civil war was about what it was about. Right?

And we just get so caught up in these things. And not to say they're not important, but there are levels of importance here that we have to recognize and to understand that if we don't tackle these things, there will not be a tomorrow. You can't have all these other things like affirmations of identity and inclusion and all these other wonderful things. If there's no air, water, or food, it doesn't matter

At one point I tried a thought experiment of reinventing, I hope I didn't say this to you before and that I'm repeating myself, but of reinventing the political system in the US, from how politicians can potentially become a part of the pool that we would elect from to the election process, to how government is run and so on. I mean, it's only one mind doing this thought experiment, and so there's going to be a lot of problems with it
