Do/Will you call the app, X?

article image placeholderUploaded by @SeekingPlumb
There are words to represent Twitter and Tweet, from the tweet the noun to I'm going to go tweet this the verb, do you know what I mean? And somehow shift that massive cultural linguistic machine to now calling the app X and then whatever words are being used to describe the post itself and the act of posting it, that's a huge machine to move

I mean, you are one of maybe ten brands that have actually done that in the history of marketing, and you just blow it up. I don't understand it. Just really don't. And I've seen the apps even gone away with retweeting reposting and just you've taken away all that vernacular, and I don't understand it. You've already hit the holy grail of marketing, and you just throw it away. I'm just dumbfounded by it

And when I clicked on it and it came up as Twitter and I laughed and I tapped my boyfriend and I said, look, I said, twitter changed its symbol to X and he is similar to me, where we both have a Twitter account, but we just haven't used it in almost forever. I want to say the last time I can recall looking at it, like, intentionally going to the app, I can't even remember my login information

As annoyed as I am with it, though, it kind of fits that he's trying to do this because every other business that he's bought into, he's had to slap his own name on as, quote unquote, founder, even if he wasn't right, or get into that arena of the B class positions. And so this is just another way, and this way, he wants to slap a name on it. That's his anyway. Yeah

But I'm glad that Threads came about because I wanted an alternative to Twitter because I didn't use it very often, but because I had the app for so many years and there was a period when I was super active on it and I'm not the same person anymore. I just wished I could trash a bunch of the tweets and start over

No, I don't call it X because I like to say Twitters because it is funny. What were you doing? I was doing the twitters. So that's why I will keep calling it Twitters. Not even Twitter. And I swear I'm not even joking about this. I had to delete X from my my tablet. It really looks like a porn website

But at this point and between now and that point, and I'm just guessing that's what he's thinking, I have no idea. It's pretty meaningless. And again, annoying because it hijacks something that's used in many other contexts. Blah. Twitters. I would say to him, Twitters

SXY 😁

That's the biggest draw to Twitter is supposed to be free speech, which Facebook and some of these other organizations do not have. They are arms of the federal government, and they bow down and kiss the ring along with everyone else. Twitter is the first one where it's been like, okay, Elon has it
