What were Christian before christ

article image placeholderUploaded by @Scribe7
If you have Buddha and Buddhism, you have Muslims, muhammad and Muslims, and you have Christ and Christians. What were Christians before Christ? I know Jesus was a Jew. He was Jewish, but not the same type of Jewish, from what I understand. But were there Christians before Christ? And if there was, what were they called? Do they have the same beliefs? And do we owe a great debt to I can never pronounce it

#religion. #history #God

And by nature of Christ being the central prophetic figure of Christianity, no Christians wouldn't have existed prior to him because he would not have had the opportunity to present his teachings and make the assertion that he's the son of God and all of these things. So strictly by nature of that no Christian Christ wouldn't have existed before that. There may have been beliefs out there that kind of suggested that a similar series of events would come

But you couldn't have told me that Christianity wasn't named after Jesus? Oh, that's what it is. Chris is anointed and Tian means little, so he would be the big anointed one and we are the little anointed ones that follow him. Yeah, that's how it went. But yeah, I appreciate you chiming in on that because I know that it wasn't like barbaric, it wasn't like crazy. This wasn't like a collision or a thing, you know what I mean?

And so then there's a different understanding. And I don't know all that happened between then of what, exactly? All the nuances of what changed for the groups of people. Right. So if you called them Israelites in the Old Testament and then Christians in the New Testament, if we're talking about the same group, believing in the same God, what were they called in between? I don't know. And it probably was a metamorphosis of sorts. Right

So the whole thing I can't say is not confusing because I guess from different people, you'll get different information. Now, if you look up Christian, it'll say Follower of Christ, and there were no Christians before Christ, but then the word Christian was here before Christ in another definition. And it's Greek and it's, it in the two words Christ and Tian. Christ is anointed

If we were to look back at Greek, quote unquote religion, what would we find? And apparently they didn't have things described as quote unquote religion. They had all sorts of various beliefs and rituals and mythology but no word even for the word religion. But if that's the case, then I wonder where anointed one came from. Like the history, I guess, of that word, the language

I mean, they didn't have the Christian moniker yet. I don't think so. But I do think that Judaism, the Jews did contribute to some form of Christianity. But then there are so many Jews that don't believe that Jesus is the mean. There are some Jews that believe that Jesus is the Christ, but most of them do not. They're still yeah. My answer would be, what were they before Jesus came? Lost
