Not big but MEGA some think it's too much

But it was some major African American affluent people that went to this church. Well, just about all of them, actually. All the big, big churches. And they're on radio, they're on TV, the whole shop. So what's your opinion on the megachurches?

Megachurches where thousands of people flock to hear man preach the word of God and they go there to receive and I guess they get something there. They are fed, so they flock where they're fed at. It's just like going to a store that have you better flock to the dollar tree because it's a dollar tree. Audi's favorite restaurant. Where you meet God is where you meet God at

But then other people want to be involved for different reasons. But I really enjoyed it, because when he added it up, it was like I had the program in one part, I had a finger in this other part. I had this part sitting down, and then next thing you know, he went through every place he told me to stop, and it all made sense at the end, you know what I mean? So when it's like that, I can get it

And they don't even have enough space to have Bible study. Like, this has got to be a great church, right? But to God, that is not how God measures the success of a church. God measures the success of a church by how much of his spirit is in that church and how much the lives of the people who attend that church is changing. The Bible says that God will add to the church such as should be saved. Such as should be saved

Everybody that comes first of all, a lot of people aren't even able to preach because the power of God is so strong in there till they just go into prophesying or praying for people and healing and deliverance begins to take place. But if they do get the chance to preach, they all say the same thing

And I tell people all the time, if you are in a church and your pastor only tells you about God's benefits, and when he talks about God's blessings, he's only talking about material things, you might want to consult God and ask God, is that really a church that you should be in? Because a real pastor will tell you that God's blessings are not just materialistic blessings, but God's blessings are. His love, his peace, his joy, his forgiveness

But now, Salem Baptist church or the house of hope, is one of the biggest African American churches in the United States of America, right here in Illinois, right here in Chicago. And I guess how I feel about it is I love it. I love being part of something that grew so big, but it took years in order for it to be that big. And not just with it being that big, but Salem touches the world. I mean, broadcasts, ministries, outreach

How can you possibly know what's going on? You see what I'm saying? How can you possibly know what's going on? You can't. And your members can't know. Your members can't believe the Bible says that we are to study, to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly? Dividing the word of truth

It's like going to see a landmark and you're going to go hear Bishop Long, may he rest in peace, hear him preach. I actually never heard him preach because every time we visited he was actually somewhere else preaching, which I'll mention that point in a second. But we went to the 07:00 A.m. Service and we drove down to Atlanta. So we're in the parking lot with a Connecticut plate, right?

It's like everybody's in your business but not necessarily helpful. And again, from personal experience, the church I was in before when I was married was like that size. And I remember when we were separated getting divorced, you would think in a church that size, oh, everybody's coming to my aid. The brothers are going to lift him up. The sisters are going to lift me up. It was none of that

Hey, what's going on? Mike okay, so it's sad to say that I don't really know much about church services because I probably can count on one hand how many times I've been to church. Not throughout my life, but out here in society. In other words, I'm pretty sure that I've been to church, church in prison more than I have since being out here in society. Growing up in the hood, we didn't really go to church much

Somebody's always needing some help to do whatever. I never really seen how the hierarchy went. I didn't try to fit in. I came. I sat down, I listened. I tried to get the most out of it that I could. But then it just got to a point where I mike the classes better. So that was that
