Star Wars Celebration: This is the way… or is it?

article image placeholderUploaded by @SanedracSays
The big headline, though, however, was that Kathleen, not Kathleen Kennedy Daisy Ridley, will be returning as Ray for a new set of movies set after the rise of Skywalker. 15 years after the rise of Skywalker, ray will be attempting to reestablish the Jedi Order. So I've got a lot of thoughts on that and coming up on my five minute time limit

Star Wars celebration dropped a ton of news for our favorite galaxy from far far away. #StarWars #Mandalorian #Ahsoka

And you're going to keep watching it because it's Star Wars. And sadly, there is some truth to that because I will be watching this because of Star Wars. But it has me concerned. That's not to say that this movie can't be good, but of all the projects that were announced, this is the one that I have the most reservations about. I'm looking really I'm really looking forward to Dave Filoni's movie and how that works with the current characters in the Mandalorian

Now, James Mangold, I think, is a fantastic director. The other woman that's directing a film, I don't know much about her. I know she did the Miss Marvel series, which I'm not going to watch, but I sound like such a curmudgeon. But I am not interested in any of this stuff anymore

But I hope that for her, since she was nine when Force Awakens came out. Maybe this movie will be the fix for those other two movies. Kind of in the same way that Star Trek Picard is. Season three is a fix for the previous two seasons, which are unbelievably terrible, and also the last Next generation Star Trek film, which wasn't all that great

And what was always weird was george Lucas had always envisioned himself as an independent filmmaker, and then he created something that was so massive and so popular, and not so popular in some cases, to where he ended up being kind of his own corporation, lucasfilm, and of course there's Indiana Jones. But it's always weird that an independent filmmaker, you look at THX 1138 and it's like, wait, the guy who did that did that

Number two, I find it's just kind of cuckoo crazy how much theo star wars excuse me, the star wars universe has expanded, and it's kind of hard to keep track of a little bit. I don't know. I kind of think leaving things alone is a good thing. I don't know if making all these movies is, like, the best thing ever. I'm not really sure. I I kind of think it's too much at this point

And then one of my other favorite movie going experiences was when The Force Awakens came out. And I know that that movie has also kind of had its own fear of divisiveness over the years, but nobody can argue that going to see a Star Wars movie ten years after the last one came out not believing that there would ever be another Star Wars movie was part of the lore of seeing a Star Wars movie

Within four years, we had the entire sequel trilogy, and I think in the prequel era and in the original trilogy era, within four years, they were still barely starting the third movie. The second movie had just released. So that anticipation, I think, is part of the lore. But I definitely agree with you in that there's a place for everybody now, and I think that's a good thing

@RantrumRadio

I was kind of more of a prequel kid. The Return of the Jedi came out four years before I was born, so I've kind of always identified as a prequel error era child, because the movie going theater experience for me started with the prequels. I never got to see the original trilogy in the theater
