No, I'm not going to go shopping because it might rain. So that secondary thought to a question is inevitably going to be kind of duke, it's not going to lead anywhere. If you suddenly get a thought from nowhere, go shopping. I would say that's probably a thought that is somehow connected to your real self

This is so interesting. And I've never considered that before. Like, thought about it too long, I guess. When I was a kid, I can remember thinking, like, where did my thoughts come from? You know, just having that curiosity. But that's kind of where I stopped my line of inquiry. But this is really helpful, I think. And lately I've been having conversations about distinguishing obsession versus thinking. And really, those are two different things
