Engaging in Healthcare so it’s Less Scary

One of the biggest gifts you can give to your children, in my personal opinion, is to engage in health care while they are well and find a provider that will work with you to make the appropriate choices or respect your choices if it's not one that they agree with. Work on that so that your child doesn't grow up to be petrified of engaging in the healthcare system

Give your children the gift of trusting healthcare.

This is somewhat normal. Like, all of that felt really good and reassuring and worth it, rather than spending the next few months getting myself stressed out and wound up about it. That being said, I grew up in a family where it was very normal to, like, you're saying, be the doctor consistently, all of that. There's no fear around doctors western medicine

Your body wasn't ready, so you had days upon days upon days of petosin. They started you with something to soften your cervix. Then you had petosin and you had that for 48 plus hours, which dramatically increases your risk of things like bleeding and postpartum depression and all of the other things. And then you were as tired and exhausted, so you've got an epidural. And then when you've got the epidural, the baby didn't like that

This was so well said. And I feel like I learned so much just in the five minutes of listening to you. But, yeah, I feel like my mom did all the things. Like she was induced, she had enough dural, like, all of it. Which, honestly, I need to get a little more clear on what really all these things actually mean and what's actually happening
