After having worked in corporate for over two decades in the areas of brand and communication across the industries of media, research, consulting, offshoring and online jobs, Priyanka decided to write full time. She believes accurate and opportune communication is the plinth for most of what goes right in this world, and precise storytelling is a pressing priority. Hello ma'am, welcome to my cellcast and congratulations on the book. Mahadevi as the blurb reads, explores, and touches upon a lot many facets pertaining to nine avatars of Durga

Hello, Siddhi. Thanks for having me here to tell you briefly about the book. It covers a lot of things. It begins from the birth of the universe and talks about the relationship dynamics and philosophy of life and spirituality, and wars of the worlds and devas and nasuras and the Trinity. And most importantly, be the divine feminine. So to capture it succeedly, I would say that the book is about primarily about two things. The divine feminine, the superconsciousness, ushma, energy

So I would like for you, because you're the right person to guide us here, to tell us about how can you explain Shakti in the most simplest terms to a layman?
@PriyankaSK

And if you were to ask me to define what Shakti is, I would say that everything around us, within us, from a little seed that germinates to the planetary system, to the sun and everything in between and around that far in the galaxies, deep into the oceans, into the forests, into the skies, in the birds and the insects and animals and humans, the higher life forms and the lower life forms, the life forms that we haven't met or seen or known and our ancestors did

This is the most wonderful explanation I have come across about Shakti. Recently I read a book and it said that if you want to channelize your emotions and control your emotions then you ought to worship Goddess Durga. And now I understand why. Coming to my next question, I would like to know. Have you always been interested in mythology, religion? When did you develop an rest for spirituality?

@Book_gobbler

You. That's an interesting one. But before I begin, I refrain from calling it mythology because I do believe it's not myth. There is data coming, there is enough proof coming, and more would come our way to suggest that it's ancient hindu history and it really, truly happened, and it's not myth. Also, calling it religion wouldn't be appropriate because it's not based on a book or a person. Hinduism is not about a book or a person

It is interesting that for most of us, our grandmothers have been a catalyst for inducting us into our religion and religious tales. I personally would ask my grandmother to repeat the story of Shravanbar, and that's how I fell in love with Ramayan. And then later Mahabharat. Coming to my next question, this book has a huge canvas, and you put across the information succinctly, as you mentioned in the previous answer. But how did you do it?

@Book_gobbler

I took to writing few years back, especially book, a book, I mean, writing a book. So I wasn't really following a format. This all began in my head during the pandemic, and I was just visiting places and trying to figure out a few things. I went to many places of significance with respect to Devi Bhagavati, and I was reading anyway for multiple years

It. That answer just gave me goosebumps. And my next question was supposed to be about if most religious books or spiritual books that I have come across, and I've spoken to the authors, they said that God channelized these messages through their pen. And I was supposed to ask you, was it exactly like that for you? And I've got my answer before even I asked you that question. Question. But then again, I have another question for you

And like she, when Brahma meets her for the first time, that's a part of the book and asks that I'm confused. Are you fierce or are you gentle? I am confused. So she says, I am what you invoke. I will be what you invoke in me. So she's the same as Gauri and Kali, but the environment makes her a Gauri or a Kali. So those are the two fiercest and the gentlest forms of her

So when you began to write this book, what was the objective at the outset? And when writing about religion, God, goddesses, even spirituality, what is it that a writer must be most careful about, in your opinion?

I've been thinking very differently, and I did not know this side at all. We are not a culture of OradHarm, of, oh, my God, I can't talk about this. We are not that. We are open to saying that. I do not agree with you. Is there another way to look at it? That's the kind of philosophy this dharma has. And unlearning is very important before you step into this

Having said that, when someone is reading a book on this therm, or somebody is trying to understand this therm, they should practice the same logic. If you look at it with skepticism or you try to judge it, you won't be able to make sense of it. This is something which needs to be with an open head and an open mind, and understood without any preconceived notions, and unlearn and be ready to be a different person before you try to understand comprehend this therm

That's right. So you just spoke about Maya being a form of shakti. We've grown up listening to Mohamaya here or studying at ages like Pramasatya jagatmithya. So I'd like to know a bit about this form of Mahadevi and the power and the influence that she holds on all of us

How would you go to liberation unless you've lived your life completely? Unless you've given your entire hearts and heart, soul and everything to those desires? So I think it is an important part of being in it, knowing it and then knowing when to detach yourself. How would you detach yourself from something that you've not experienced whether in this life or the previous life? The soul keeps evolving. So this mitya is an essential part of our life. It beautifies our life

That is so convincing and so wonderfully put. So you come from brand and corporate communications profession. So I'd like to know how can we apply the teachings from your book and from Sinatan Dharma in our everyday corporate life? Because it is getting hectic day by day. And to keep up with all of that is another ropewalk altogether. The

You? Yeah. I think if we understood the divine feminine as an enabler of all things, there are and find its presence in this very masculine world, not man's world. I don't believe it's a man's world. It's a masculine world. Because even our women, our girls, are turning masculine, not just not in the looks. I don't mean to say that

That was really, really insightful. So moving on, this question just popped up in my mind a while ago. If you had to introduce a non Sinatini to Dharma, which is that one story that you would narrate to them that leaves them tongue tied and in awe

But the powerful women who know when to show their power and not show it when it's not necessary, reveal it when it's really needed. I think that's what it is. And I think this is what a person who does not believe in Sanatana would also like, because it's so much about celebrating womanhood, celebrating femininity. Whether you are a sanatani or not, this is something a person, a forward looking person, a progressive person will always appreciate

Your narration. And that description was enthralling. Moving on to the last question for this session. This session has been really, really insightful. And this would be my last question for this session because we have to end somewhere. So talking about divine feminine, this terminology has become recently viral because of all the tarot card reading reels. But hindu religion has always had goddesses to worship, and that's what we learn about in Mahadevi. So how does one find this divine feminine or Shakti in contemporary world?
@PriyankaSK
Author Priyanka
@PriyankaSK · 2:55

@Book_gobbler

We need to just unlearn what we've learned and understand that Shakti comes in all these forms, visible in all these ways in various men and women around us. And we need to bear the eyes to recognize it. We need to learn, understand so that we can see it. How will we see it when we don't know it? So I think we need to educate ourselves to begin with. And the first education comes from Prakriti. She's the biggest teacher there ever was
