But I guess it was the thought that counted than anything. I was just kind of blown away that she actually did that after so many years. Every year it's just been exactly the same, just a happy birthday and that's it, nothing. I've never been given a present or anything throughout so many years. I think I've had like two presents throughout my lifetime and so that's why it was just a bit different
And it kind of does hurt, but they do it because of how much respect and love that they have for us. And that's the strangest thing to me, that's all. It's because I've never experienced that and it's just been a blessing to have them in our lives, and just to have them do that for us is definitely a shock because I don't have friends that would do that for me
And all that kind of stuff. So that kind of helped me to work through the certain triggers that would happen that would make me react. And they said Happy birthday. And then the one thing that they did say is that the new start, new beginning. And that triggered me. It did upset me because I know where she wants things to go

I was saying is that the response from my ex was very shocking, that she was open to meeting me every Sunday and we would meet up down the beach and just do a catch up and meet face to face. And like I said, I was expecting a resistance, I was expecting a decline on the offer. But she was very open about it and said that could work
