Depression

article image placeholderUploaded by @RiseandThrive
I journal, I pray, I meditate, and I maintain a mental health blog. All that's proven to be helpful. However, I've also relied on SSRIs, commonly known as antidepressant medication. For a long time, I was embarrassed by my need for medication to cope with my depression. However, without it, life can become overwhelming and difficult to bear

Hey, thanks for this. I think you make some amazing points about, like, yeah, creating dialogue around this and not not feeling shame for whatever reason. And I know that the toxic masculinity can be, like, just an added layer of frustration when you're dealing with mental health issues

Hello, you are so right!

I do take medication for depression and anxiety and a lot of people would say I wouldn't take medication, I would do ABCD, but that's for you, okay? And I like that you are proactive towards mental health illness, taking medication, because I take medication, I'm an advocate for mental health as well. And I do advocate that taking your medication, if you need it
