Manson murders August 8, 1969

But he, from the time he was a young teenager, was in trouble and constantly being charged with crimes, spent time in prison. By the time these horrible events happened in 1969, he'd been in prison half his life. And frankly, when they tried to release him, he was incarcerated at prison in Los Angeles, and I think it was Terminal Island Prison. And he'd been a petty criminal. He'd been forging checks, stealing cars, things like that

Rosemary and Leno LaBianca wound up dead at the hands of the Manson gang. And the place was there was palpable fear in Southern California, in particular Los Angeles, and in particular in the entertainment industry. Yeah, it definitely makes me want to learn more about the story. And like you said, all the tentacles. So tragic, so awful. And again, also, like, obviously to humans, infinitely interesting to understand why people do these things and how we get to that point, how a normal person can be influenced by someone else to do something so horrible. But, yeah, thank you so much for sharing. I really enjoyed listening to it, despite, obviously, how harrowing it is
