Like, so many times we walk ourselves into situations with people who are just broken and damaged, and we just assume that if we love them more, if we try harder, if we try to understand and dissect their trauma and who they are, that we're going to be the one that turns it around for them. But you just can't. They have to do it for themselves

And I find that I've had to take some serious time to look at why I stay in things that don't serve me because this is a repeated thing in my life and these traumas will repeat until we address them. So I took time to address and I understand that these traumas in my childhood are contributing to what I'm doing as an adult and recognizing it and putting a name to it and then understanding the attachment style that I have based off of it

And so when I have conversations with other survivors and I hear pieces like this, I'm like, oh, my gosh. This is why I do what I do to support survivors of domestic violence. Because my thought process in terms of healing out loud and demonstrating that and being that and exuding that and being the voice that people don't yet have, that many women don't yet have, is it happens more often than not. Every minute. Every minute. There are 20 victims of domestic violence

And I finally said enough and I finally said I'm going to need you to stop calling, texting, coming over here so that I can sit in my piece. And I at first wasn't allowed that, but I think the point has been taken and I am sitting in my piece and I hurt for anyone that has been where I have been in any of the situations that I have wrote, written poetry about concerning my childhood and my relationship since my traumas that have carried over
Give that man a sword and say, don't come back without that shield. You come back with it or you come back on it and they hold it down and they just like, strong. I mean, they teach the kids how to fight. It's crazy. You're Spartan on that level, on spiritual level? I don't know, because I ain't been hitting the heart this many times. But be good. Because in the work that she does, I guess you can say outgoing person and people that are mike that kind of want to mess up the mood or mess up the spirit, you know what I mean? She had to watch her back, you know what I mean? And it came to a point where on two separate instances where she had to really sit down and take a stand for herself
