If your mother was there and she walks with care and a cane so a slow gate is set on cruise but so is your aging father, your son and then your daughter only one can run so which one do you lose? Do you run or do you stay? Gunfire moments away, taking close with no time to be f****** confused and I f****** get it, you want your guns

And I have very minimal expectations unless our children come forward and they somehow are able to make from where we have left off strides and moves politically, where just some common sense measures can be put into place to keep our nation safe

You are so freaking talented. Oh, my God. It makes me want to get tapped back into poetry, but I don't know if I'll ever get to your level. This is hard. Sending your kids to school every day in general is hard. Especially with shootings in general. Sending your kids or family member anywhere, it's hard. And with me having an anxious behavior thing, I used to worry a lot about everything. What if this and it will kill me, right?

Yay. I'm glad you got a chance to listen to it. And I'm sorry to hear that you've been through all that. It's f****** crazy. F****** crazy. I don't know. And it's sad that we've gotten to a point that we're like, we just kind of have to deal with it. I don't know what the answer is

Because when I spoke about certain things, it's like most shut up. You don't know what you're talking about or you're living in the past. We're living in a time now where anybody's trying to hear that righteous stuff. And I don't think I was speaking anything righteous. I think I was just speaking what makes sense. So I had to express myself through my poetry and it was just a way of bringing me to some degree of solace anyway

That also what a lot of people probably aren't hearing is I think there were, like, I think it was either six or eight in one day this past weekend, shootings on a Saturday involving teenagers. Teenagers. So what's the background check doing for that? They can get them. You can get them. It's just insane. And the only way I know to advocate for change is by well, not the only way, because I vote I'm outnumbered here, especially here in Texas
