You okay? Today's prompt is telling me to introduce myself, so let me get to it. My name is Rob. I am 49 years old. I am a high school english teacher. I have two boys. They are 16 and eight. And I'm kind of using swellcast to kind of stick my toes into the pool of podcasting to see what really think of it

Hey Rob, welcome to swell. I think it's the perfect place to dip your toes into the world of podcasting. It's so easy to just talk and to hear people talk back to you and practice using your voice and feeling out what it is that you like to talk about and in what style. So, yeah, I mean, have so much fun with it. And I'm excited to hear your future posts and let me know if you have any questions at all. Thank you

Hey, thanks for the reply and thanks for listening. Yeah, it's interesting so far. I'm starting to make some connections with people here on swell. So I think that's really a great thing. Hopefully, as I get a little bit more into it, I will talk about some things other than talking about talking about things. But I am glad to hear from you. And stay tuned. I hope you had a wonderful holiday so far here

Anyway, as far as that's concerned, every time I got a podcast done there, I'd have to share it out to my social medias and just tell people about it and make little videos, little video snippets, telling people about what my podcast episodes are about and whatnot, as opposed to here. You already have an audience when you're doing your podcast and you put it out there. It's all about just having people listen to it, because there are already people here

But there's still this stigma about mental health, and there's a stigma about men especially having mental health issues. One of the big things I've learned over the years, and this is especially true as a male teacher, is basically there's pretty much two types of men in teaching, or at least people perceive there to be two types of men in teaching. We either have to be a hard ass and be strict like the gym coach, or you're the wimp, you're the pushover
