Fall out from Green Day’s New Year’s Eve Performance
They may not be Democrats per se, but they support the arts, they support social causes. They probably fall more on the left side of the political spectrum than they do on the right. So again, I'm not sure why this was so surprising, why anybody on either end of the political spectrum was surprised. Oh my God, he said, I'm not a part of the mega agenda. Oh, that's so controversial. Not really. It tracks
What is my introduction to punk rock? Being born in 2003. You find Dookie? Yeah, I fell into it with Green Day. Doesn't matter how you get there. It's just how it works. Punk fucking rock. Did anybody forget about that? Everybody yelling at me. You're the least punk rock person I know. I know a motherfucker. That's why I'm not in a punk rock band. Because you have to be in a punk rock band to be fucking punk rock

As opposed to what a lot of so called rock is today. And I think that's something. It's rebellious, it's anti authority, it's political. Yeah, sure, a lot of the bands play like three chords. And the guys usually can't sing. But that doesn't matter. I mean, to me, when I think of punk, that's what I think of. I think of anybody who wants to pick up a guitar or a bass
Much like you were saying in the movie back to the future, we're going to take a ride through, you and I. It's a fun discussion we're going to have. It's like a music article is writing itself, and you get to co write it with me. Hooray. Here we go. I graduated in 2003. The band that really pulled me into punk rock was blink 182. Sung their praises in that post that I gave you
But whatever people have been listening to that get me, listen to this, listen, this, listen. It's. Listen. It's. Couldn't listen to it. Hip hop, I love it, but it just wasn't for me. Whatever. I had a hard time listening because I'm a visual person. So once it was released on Disney, because every musical I've ever really seen, I don't think I've ever seen. I've seen fan of the opera
It's got all the bands that were in the warp tour since 2003. It's going to be a good time. I roll in there. I'm sitting next to a young man. We start having a conversation. Another guy steps in between us. He says, scraggly looking, long haired man has a monster hat on. I just get the email, oh, there's going to be a half. I'm telling everybody shit
This is my new friend, ideal dialect. He's a special boy, youngster. He's holding it down in the great state of Utah. He lives in Salt Lake City. Gook, look him up. I'll put another post on here. He's got his instagram handle on it. He's what he described to me as a socially conscious, economically conscious, world conscious, everything. Hip hop artist. His music ain't bad, man. I listened to it
Boy did he love yellow card. That era for me now yellow card I love you to death. I'm not really listening. Like Ocean Avenue. I love you, I love you. Got you. Unfortunately, I'm looking forward to it next year. For me it's going to be what you might call it. Damn. Look at me. Can't even remember the name. Look at this. Recall oh, that band that. My chemical romance which takes me back to the trip
You know what it means to be Catholic and look so much like Jesus and then be typecast as a character and end up playing it for five years and then walk around and be associated with not only Mormonism, but Christianity and Catholicism and women are literally screaming at him. They're telling him, I see your eyes when I pray to Jesus. They're not saying it like that. They're actually taking him seriously
As an artist or whatever he's doing. He's seen many transitions in this industry. Music. You said it yourself. Their music is not complicated at all. What is it? Four chords, three chords, it's just the same thing. But you know what? That music carried him a long way. And then he just kept going with it. And then that was Dookie. And then there's american idiot
You know, you take a look, you reflect on back. You come into it, you hop into one topic, one topic just opens up the floodgates and then, you know, I can't close. Is this the end of it? Who knows? That's going to keep going. You don't think of my compiled. Dre here has any opinions, thoughts and opinions about his thing in music. Remember Green Day's? That's his grew. They were the same age as him
Well, go ahead and wrap it up. Tag it out. New albums out. Saviors by Green Day. Yeah, one eyed bastard is a hell of a song. I think he's talking about the Muslim Antichrist. But that's just me. I don't know. I have only listened to it one time. But, yeah, the album's pretty lit, so you guys go check it out

I didn't realize it was already coming out. I will definitely be checking it out. Probably on Spotify. And if it's good enough, who knows? Maybe I'll actually buy a copy of it on CD, if those are still a thing
I haven't given it a full wash over yet. I haven't listened to the album from beginning to end. But, yeah, the first couple of songs on it. I mean, even the new blink. Blink 182 out. The new Blink one eight two album is really good. Is really, really good. If you haven't listened to it, check it out. It's nice to hear that band come back together, be adults about everything
