Why my family & I have taken a strong stance against celebrating Easter

article image placeholderUploaded by @Radical_4Jesus
My heart is to simply share information in hopes that you will seek father on it and do as scripture calls us to do. And that's to test all things and hold fast to what is true. Amen. So, today I'd like to discuss the origins of what we have been calling Easter. And like most holidays, this one is steeped in much paganism. We can thank the roman emperor Constantine for that

Despite my best intentions as a 21st century parent, my children are still spoiled by all of their family members at Christmas time. And I as a parent have to then compromise myself by making my children throw away toys that they don't play with. But then we'll ask for months later and the devil wins again. I found a brilliant solution to the Santa Claus thing. If anybody wants it, they can take it. I wrote an entire thing about it

This is really interesting. I have to say that I. I've never come across this particular perspective from a believer. I'm curious, does this mean that you also do not celebrate good Friday or Christmas? Or do you celebrate the birth of Christ, the death and resurrection of Christ at different times? Yeah, I'd love to hear

But I can tip over some pretty sacred cows by saying that Christ wasn't born on December 25 and history points to him being born around the fall time. But again, that's probably a different discussion for another time. But since we don't have a specific date, I do see the value in celebrating Christmas. But for the last eight years, my family and I have chosen to not put up an actual Christmas tree. I know, shocker

@SeekingPlumb

Well, I was basically saying we don't celebrate the pagan holiday of Easter with the bunny rabbits and the egg hunts and whatnot, because, again, it takes away from the cross. So I hope that helps answer your question. Thank you for continuing the conversation. Have a good night

But, yeah, I would love to know more about your ministry. What denomination are you, technically? So are you guys Adventists? Do you celebrate on Saturdays? I need to know all the details, but if you guys have anything online, I'd love to check out your story. If you have an instagram, see your family, how it's going. I'd love to hear your husband's testimony. You should

But let me tell you, you know, life in the rv, it can be pretty rough. And being in that small of a space, I mean, ours is a 40 foot, fifth wheel toy hauler, so it's, you know, bigger than some of the other rvs out there. But I call it the box because that's how it can feel sometimes. But, yeah, you know, being in tight quarters can certainly do a number on your relationship

When I say we observe them, we don't necessarily do all the things that devout Jews or even messianic Jews do. I do homeschool my kids. So we do a study on it every year, talk about it. We might do a project on it, but it's a lot of, like, reflection and, you know, reading it in the Bible and so on and so forth. But we do. We have and we do when the Lord allows us to observe Passover

And so for me, while I'm going to, of course, go to church and do the thing that, you know, churches do have, resurrection Sunday service, Easter service, whatever they want to call it, we're gonna do that, of course. And of course, we're gonna sing celebratory praises unto our God for the risen king. But, yeah, all the Easter stuff. No, our church doesn't do any Easter e things

Hey, Tanya, thank you for your response. And, yes, amen. And amen. Every day we celebrate the risen king and the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Absolutely. And, you know, I love to hear that your church doesn't partake in the Easter related activities. In my experience, that is very rare

You know, but I think, like most people don't know the pagan roots or the babylonian culture that is mixed in with Easter, that they probably don't know about this. So I just thought, since we're talking about it, I really wanted to comment on your slow cast, but again, didn't want to be disrespectful, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on this

And I love your testimony about growing in your faith through the hebrew tradition, which is what I'm currently doing, you know, learning about the Shemitah cycles, fruits, all that. And I appreciate denomination thing is weird to me. I identify as a christian, but even that upsets people because they're like, what did you do during the crusades? What did you do? That's the weird thing to me, is that the catholic thing?

Hey, Tiffany, thank you so much for your response regarding sunrise service. And you were totally okay to put it on the original post. I don't mind at all. And thank you. Yes, I am familiar with that scripture in ezekiel eight. And I did not make, you know, the connection between that and sunrise service as they were worshiping a false God. But yeah, there could be some correlation there. You know, sunrise service is a tradition
