If you were to ask me the same questions, the common threads that binds the characters who are in the highest order of my recall are distinction, empathy and impedance. A writer creates characters that depends upon who are or what role do they play
The moment you feel connected with the characters, you will continue till the end of the book. And the moment you feel disconnected with the characters, there is no point of reading it.
