Suraj is SDET manager in a prestigious big four firm. He is a unique individual who possesses a distinctive way of perceiving the world. Suraj finds solace in penning down real life experiences. He skillfully captures essence of emotions, relationships and intricacies of human interaction
You you, in this context, could be the love of my life, the creator of my life, a cherished friend in my life, or even the happy moments that have shaped my journey. With this realization, I decided to name the book I Write Since You Exist, as a tribute to all the wonderful readers who bring meaning to my work and to those who hold a special place in my life

Those are really some heartfelt themes that you have worked upon in this book. So how many poems does this book have and how long did it take for you to pen this book? Was it done over the period of certain days, months? Or is it like you wrote these poems over the years and later decided to publish it?
You so siddhi I Write Since You Exist is a compilation of 27 poems and seven short stories meticulously organized into various sections, each centering around a distinct theme. These pieces are the result of a creative journey that unfolded over several years. I published my first book back in 2017 and simultaneously embarked on my corporate career during the same year. As the demands of my professional life grew, my passion for writing remained an unwavering part of who I am

So, Suraj, what was the selection process like? How did you decide which story and poetry goes in this collection and that others can follow later?
I basically wanted this book to serve as a mirror reflecting the myriad facets of life, offering solace, inspiration and a sense of connection to anyone who picks it up

And this interview is getting interesting as we delve deeper into the works of suraj. So as a professional, as a working professional suraj, how do you manage to find time for your passion, for your writing? Are there more books in the pipeline?
You? That's a great question, and I am sure many of us grapple with this challenge. To keep it simple, I have always considered myself a keen observer of my surroundings, the people I've met, and their behaviors. Whenever inspiration strikes, I make it a point to jot down notes, capturing the essence of the moment. Then, when I do manage to find some spare time, I sit down, take a deep breath, and start shaping those raw thoughts into words

That's great, Suraj. Glad to know about it. And my best wishes for the upcoming books coming to poetry. What elements are quintessential to creating a poem, in your opinion?
And here is how I see it start with a bowel full of thoughts, but not just any thoughts. This should carry context and emotions. These are the raw materials from which poetry is born. Then add a glass of structure and rhythm, taking care with your choice of words and tone. This step is akin to setting the stage for your poetic creation. Next, steer them properly, ensuring they mix and blend into a perfect amalgamation of language, emotions, experiences and imagination

That's such a beautiful, beautiful way to define poetry and the quintessential elements of poetry. We have arrived at the last question for this session and I would like to know what is your opinion? Why do you think the world needs poetry?
I would like to say that as custodians of this literary tradition, it's our duty to keep the power of poetry alive, to celebrate its rich history and to inspire future generations to embrace this magic and depth. Poetry is not just a part of our past, it's an essential part of our present and future as well
