Men it’s OK to cry !

article image placeholderUploaded by @Pragati.chopra
If society has conditioned us to believe that being a man, that you can't cry, you have to be tough, you can fight, smoke, drink, drive rashly, be aggressive, be strong and always be in control, but you can't cry. There are several issues that plague men today owing to this stereotype and these unrealistic expectations. Because of all this, men avoid opening up, which can lead to severe mental wellness and health issues

It is very natural and is required to get out of any problem. And also crying uses up things like you feel light and less burdened when you let out your feelings by crying and it is not at all shameful and people should do it. Even men can cry. Like society may put up some norms but we should resist them, not follow every one of them. Like some people can go against the tide and still survive. Like what if society teaches from wrong?

And if he feels something, he cries. In closing, because I don't have much time left, I will say this. When I was well, late in my life and my father, of course, was still living at that time, I was talking to him on the phone, and I told him about some of the things that he had said and done to me that really hurt me the rest of my life. And he said, you mean that is still hurting you?

Um, that's not entirely true. We do cry and feel vulnerable with the women we feel the most comfortable with. If we don't, that means that we are not comfortable sharing everything with you. Yeah

It's more about that emotional intelligence. They should know how to manage their emotions. It's not about suppressing, it's more about how to cope up with the negative emotions. Because every time a guy is seen crying, he is mocked, he is ridiculed, he becomes a subject of mockery in a public place. Everybody starts laughing at him. Why is it so? And there should be no such gender specific thing in expressing your emotion expression in the right way

Hi, Prague. Absolutely, men can and should cry. It's a natural and healthy emotional response to various situations and feelings. But unfortunately, cultural expectations and stereotypes have frequently dictated that men should suppress their feelings or avoid crying, which can be harmful to their mental and emotional well being. So according to me, crying is a way to express and release emotions, which includes sadness, can be grief, frustration or even joy. So it does not make a man weak or unmanly

Well, I think it's partly conditioning, but mostly it's a genetic wiring. We men deal with emotions and situations differently. Perhaps women like to talk about it with their friends, and this is good because it's like therapy. But men like to disassociate themselves from a particular emotion or a situation. Perhaps they like to go on a hike or go camping overnight or just go for a trip and detach and disassociate themselves physically from that situation in order to deal with it

Cry because you are human

I think this is the least we can do for the opposite genders, to allow them to be themselves, to help them feel treated as normal human beings irrespective of their gender. So yeah, dear men, it's not just okay to cry. It's natural to cry. There's no big deal about it
