Cyber Bullying

article image placeholderUploaded by @Prachi_Agarwal
Most people fall in trap of this vicious cycle of bullying others online because it makes them feel superior. It empowers them cool in your words. But if posting negative comments, making someone feel embarrassed, and hampering somebody's mental health is being cool, then I'm happy being uncool people. It is high time you realize that blowing somebody else's candle is not going to make your shine any brighter. In conclusion, awareness is the key to prevent online harassment

Devices that are handheld, like mobile devices, it doesn't even have to be a computer. It can even be bullying can even take place from the palm of your cyber bullying. I mean. So what do you think is the most effective way in which the activities of minors can be monitored or limited? And secondly, how do you think we can draw a line between the freedom of speech and the respect that others argue?

There's a word called noob which means you are a newbie and you don't know anything about video game and there's a word called pro which means you are expert in video game. So I learned two things that day, even we can learn something from kids

These insensitive behaviors are not much thought or acted upon. And even if there are community guidelines or such stuff on social media to regulate users, people still find new ways to attack innocent people. Cyber bullying, they experience it and mostly do not take action against it. People must realize that reporting is the key. One must talk to someone, maybe whom they believe can help them. One can gather information about the interactions and possible conversations made by the bully as evidence

Thank you for your useful inputs. Well, you bought in a very important concept that whatever we do, people are going to always find new ways in which they can actually make people victim of something das serious cyber bullying. But I think one possible solution is that every time they find a new way to victimize somebody, we are here as a society to stand for them, to find new solutions, new ways, so that we can eradicate this

Thank you so much for bringing this concept of right of expression into picture when it comes to cyberbullying. However, when we talk about our rights, in one hand, if we have the bucket of rights, we also have our duties. On the other hand, it is very important that we understand that right to express exists with clauses. It has terms and conditions applied. It says that anybody can express anything they want without hurting others, without making the other person feel attacked. Right?

But even sometimes, when the intent is not to hurt, it affects a person so much because their self esteem is affected over there. And many times. As I said before, whatever we do in social media or other platforms, we do it in order to affect our self esteem. And it might affect either positively or negatively, depending on what happens over there. Depending on how we perceive things over there. This is a very important topic

Well, I totally agree on your concept of self esteem, but my question to you is, is social validation actually required to boost one's self esteem? I'd recommend you to look at my swell, which I've posted prior to this, which speaks about this. It deals with how social media and its publicity that we do is generally for boosting our selfesteem. But I think it should just remain the icing on the cake. However, self validation should be the cake

Hello. Social validation is not required to develop self esteem. However, it is used as a tool to develop self esteem. Validation is one of our basic psychological needs. However, when this validation or this basic psychological need is not met, we tend to seek this validation from those around us. And this is where social validation comes in

Yes, I totally agree. People are now falling a trap of this social networking site in different social validations just to boost their self esteem. The problem is when this validation is not received or is received in a way that they may not like. Right? So it feels like a bullet shot in their confidence and it also lowers down their self esteem. I totally agree to your point of view. Right
