The Super Bowl Ad Curse continues! Alcohol is next!

article image placeholderFor Super Bowl ads this year, crypto is out, booze is in
And by 2001, a lot of those companies that advertised ceased to exist. A lot like FTX last year. Now, like I said, I can't really explain it. About the only logic that I can put to it is that marketers are out of ideas on how to attract new customers. So they think, well, let's just go for broke. Let's hit as many people as we can. Let's hit 100 million people and throw ourselves at the mercy of the Super Bowl

I think it's probably at an all time high, if I'm being honest with you. At least from what I see with the invention, I should say, of hard seltzer. I think that people have gone a little bit off the deep end with it, especially young people in college. Like, the the amount of of overdrinking because of that, I think, is kind of staggering when you think about it. It's obviously a lot easier to drink something

And the other point I think Taylor, you had mentioned about with young people drinking more, whereas Phil said they were drinking less. From what I've seen. I know that the dry January was pretty popular, but it seems like I guess it just depends on what pockets were in, because I spent a good chunk of January in New York City and I didn't personally drink, like a ton

So I guess it kind of makes sense to not know about the Exclusivity rights, because even if it's Budweiser one year or like Michelob Ultra another year, when I was younger, not knowing the same company, obviously, as you get older, you see the Anheuser Bush on all these other brands as well. But, yeah, a lot of brands to choose from, I guess, with the Exclusivity, I'm kind of curious how that deal even came together. I guess I don't know

That one stuck around for a while, but after that I'm not really remembering too many others. It's the WhatsApp that really kind of sticks out in my mind. But with this era coming to an end, I'm looking forward to see what the other beverage makers have in store. I mean, they've got, ah, 30 years of pentup aggression to get after this
