World Cup: Group G Open Diacussion

article image placeholderUploaded by @Phil
But this year, it seems like they've brought a very, very strong side. This looks like an allstar team from the Premier League. Taylor, I'm sure you can run us through the entire lineup and just speak volumes about each one of the players on this Brazil side. They just look very, very formidable. They are the favorites to win this tournament. And I think it's an absolute foregone conclusion that they are going to advance, making it a very boring group

@Taylor How good did Brazil look?

And what I saw was a Brazil team that tried to do things traditionally, but then also had the players that can improvise, that can make things happen on their own by improvising and being a little bit creative with the ball. And if a team is able to do that, I think that is a definite difference maker going off the script a little bit and really just kind of making your own plays. So let me know. Is that something that you saw in this Brazil team?

Cameroon Serbia play to 3-3 tie

So the chances of them picking up one or even three points is very, very unlikely. But I guess I should not say anything until the matches are actually played, because this World Cup has just been absolutely crazy for Serbia. They'll go on to play Switzerland. Assuming Switzerland loses today to Brazil

@Phil

I'm not sure that I see this Cameroon team or Serbian team being able to beat Switzerland or Brazil, but this is the World Cup of upsets, as people are calling it, so you never know. And what happened to South Korea today, I think, goes show you that anything can happen. We're still at that really crucial stage in the tournament where these points, they do matter. Every goal matters. Every goal you concede matters. We'll see where we end up after today

They have that one initial goal disallowed, but they just their play becomes so much more aggressive when they do something like that. And that is going to be the difference maker, I think, in a lot of these games. Portugal and Uruguay is going to kick off in about an hour. It will be interesting to see if Uruguay can hang on here. They desperately need to score some goals

@Taylor final matches previews

The afternoon matches of Group G are a lot like the morning matches of Group H. We have one team that's already qualified in Brazil, and then we have the remaining three teams fighting for one remaining slot. And, you know, with Brazil, I'll say the same thing that I said with Portugal. If we've learned anything, the teams that have already qualified come into the third match with maybe not as much intensity. So don't count Cameroon out
