World Cup: Group D Open Discussion

article image placeholderUploaded by @Phil
That really was one in stoppage time by England's Harry Kane. They did beat Panama two to one. And you know, that was something that, you know, you have to credit them with. However, I just think they're up against that here, and I think Australia and Tunisia could actually be a pretty good game, but I just don't see anybody beating Denmark and France to advance here. Taylor please correct me if I'm wrong here on any of the assumptions that I've made

Can France defend their title? @Taylor #SWELLWC22 #FIFA

But I definitely think that Denmark is a team that can put up a serious fight, especially against the type of opposition that they have in Australia and Indonesia

Now, one other thing that's really important to mention about this group is, of course, Christian Eriksson, the superstar for the Danish national team. He suffered a very serious cardiac incident during the Euros that nearly took his life, I believe. They, they did lose was a pulse. He was unresponsive on the field. They had to shock his heart. It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen, if not the scariest thing I've ever seen as a supporter of football

France looks great so far

And I have to say that of the teams I've seen so far, france definitely looks the most impressive. And I didn't get a chance to really see a lot of the England match, but France just looks absolutely incredible. They're getting fantastic shots on, they're getting quality chances. And the passing, they're just passing the ball just extremely well. This team looks dangerous

@taylor Group D final matches halftime report

I imagine at some point France is going to get an opportunity to score and they will. I just think that that's a foregone conclusion. If France is able to do that, then all eyes are on the Australia Denmark match. Australia would go through with either a tie or a win. Denmark would go through with a win. And it appears that Australia is really kind of playing for that tie. I think they might know that they're over match

Well, Phil. Tunisia have scored and also Australia have scored. So this is really interesting. As things stand right now, france would be at the top of the group and Australia would be second in the group level on points with France sense, however, second on their negative one goal difference. Tunisia is sitting at third right now

Tunisia and Australia surprising leads

Well, with a little less than 15 minutes to go in each of these matches, we have some surprising results here. Australia up one nil on Denmark, and we have Tunisia actually up one nil on France. Now, we know France has nothing to play for here. They're automatically advancing. But still, you would think that this game or match would be in France's favor, and it just is not in. Tunisia has put themselves in a position where they have a real possibility of advancing

@Taylor Australia through

And you could see all the Tunisian fans in the stands watching their phones. And I think at that point, they knew that advancing was not going to happen. But pretty poor defense from Tunisia on that goal. Three people just kind of standing around, one with his hands in the air, complaining about something, when he really should have been looking at that open man and putting a body on that open man. Just a nice goal
