RIP to Tim Wakefield

article image placeholderUploaded by @Phil
We all try with balls and throw the knuckleball, which is a little easier to do with a whiffleball. You throw it, you try to emulate Tim Wakefield. That's what every kid did once they realized that, hey, I'm not going to play in the major leagues, just throwing the ball I can't throw at 99 miles an hour. Time to go to the knuckleball. So kids all over the United States would emulate Tim Wakefield

A Legend who lived every baseball players dream

@Phil

I remember back in the day when, whether it was MVP, baseball, All Star baseball, MLB, the Show, MLB, two K, my younger brother would always use whenever he'd use the Red Sox to play against me, he'd always use Tim Wakefield as his pitcher because his knuckle ball was just so lethal. Like you mentioned, Phil, he had quite a few accomplishments during his career. Obviously, the two World Series championships in 2004 and 2007

@Edcellent The Boone HR and weather

So we were beyond midnight at that point. And it was a cool night. And from what I understand, coolness and the knuckleball don't really agree unless it's in a dome for some reason. But the weather and knuckleballs do affect each other. And I remember watching the slow motion replay, and I remember seeing the ball having rotation as it went to the plate
