The Atlantic Coast conference set to add two teams on the Pacific coast: Time to end the charade
The ACC is in talks with Cal and Stanford about adding both of those programs into the conference. Now, this comes as no surprise given the nature of what is happening over the past couple of days in college football, leaving the Pac Twelve and the Pac Ten as we knew it. With only four teams left, it makes sense that these two schools would be looking for new homes and looking for them right away

One last note specifically about Stanford and Cal. Both are academically elite institutions who count among their peers a number of schools who don't play football at the highest level, like the Ivy League, MIT, Caltech, those sorts of schools, as well as a number that do, like Northwestern, Duke, Vanderbilt. The better part of a century ago, sawani left the SEC and the University of Chicago left the Big Ten
