Not ordinary

article image placeholderUploaded by @Payal_Shandil
The teachers and the school counselors took no time in labeling her daughter as hyperactive and hand over a tiny box of pills. It will help, they said, help her become normal. It took her all her strength to say no. She did agree with the school that her daughter was not ordinary. And with that she and her daughter began the 20 year long journey to prove that school soccer, yoga, swimming, meditation, reading, art name it, the mother and daughter did it all

#herstories #mothers #extraordinary A mother takes her daughter through the journey of becoming extraordinary from not ordinary!!

Thank you so much, payal. And this podcast takes me to the very pertinent point that I keep talking about with a lot of people. As we have been progressing and developing in various fields, and you we have forgotten that every person is different, every person's growth path is different. And the various nuances that a person has should not be and cannot be labeled as a problem or a disease or given a name

He loved to do things his own way, so if the mobile phone is not at a particular angle, he would change. Otherwise, a normal kid. And she was like, oh, you know what? My child has OCD. And I felt that wrong on so many levels

And my headmistress, she labeled me as vain and as haughty, proud just because I was a topper in my class. But I was just a bookworm and maybe I was just trying to catch up with my own self, with how I am supposed to be. And your story, jumping to your story, it is such a heartwarming tale and I really, really loved it. Keep sharing such sunshine stories and I just love reading them and taking lessons from them. Thank you. Have a good day

Thank you so much, Payal. And you were very right in saying that if it's such a small child, at least let the child grow. Let the child figure out things before you start labeling a person. And I'm so glad that we are in agreement on this, and I look forward to hearing more from you. Take care. Bye

Hi, Payal. That was a beautiful one. You know, labeling a person does not help. But enabling a person with all your love and support, with your proper understanding of what he actually wants from you, how much potential he holds within himself and how. How you can support him, how you can act as a kind of facilitator, how much you can empower the mind of the other person in bringing out the best in him or her
