The right to protest

article image placeholderUploaded by @Payal_Shandil
Go home, yelled the man. This is no place for a child. The crowd pushed both of them towards the center. The antigovernment slogans mixed with cries of pains. The police had resorted to Lati charge after the water cannons failed to control the rising tide of people demanding justice. The boy ignored the man and the numerous others who said the same. He was scared. He was old enough to know that he did not have the physical strength to face a policeman. And his intimidating Lati

You, wow. Pile this. This gave me absolute goosebumps. The last line, it was so. It's so jarring. Yet with such brevity, you manage to hold a mirror to the face of society and basically reflect the reality of today's world, which I'm absolutely in off with the kind of seeming ease and the kind of simplicity with which you did. This is really amazing

You. It reminds me of something that I wrote in 2009, I believe. So I wrote something like this about, with the backdrop of the Hindu Muslim riots in, in Mumbai. So. Ah. It is disturbing. And it is very, very detail oriented, descriptive. It is very vivid, actually, even though it was short, it was very descriptive, whatever you shared. And I liked it. And I think you have a dog at home

You. Good morning. And yes, I've often found that the social events around us do reflect and come up in our writing. And fortunately for us, well, I was a kid during the 1990 riots. Not a kid, slightly older kid. Okay. But fortunately for me, back in Himachal, it was more of a news being shown on tv. Whatever was shown, other than anything else, we didn't really comprehend what was happening until way later

You. Good morning. I can't thank you enough for your kind words as a writer. I feel really happy that somebody got a piece exactly the way I intended it to be. So maybe I'm improving. If I'm able to. If what I. What you read, then maybe I am improving their scope for me. And thank you so much for taking out the time not only to listen, but also to leave a voice note and see you around. Bye bye

You have given the live picture of a protest, a child who was protesting against the power, against the ruling party, asking questions. When you were speaking, I was getting all kind of pictures in my mind. So beautifully it is explained

Good morning and thank you so much for leaving a voice note. It is really encouraging, especially when you get one early in the morning. And yes, I have been working on my descriptive writing. The fact that you could see in quotations what I was trying to show you tells me that I am on the right path. Please feel free to share any feedback you have to help me improve. See you around. Thank you so much again. Bye

Hi, Payal. You always come with a different kind of swell and which really creates a huge impact on the listeners. And you make us or you force the readers or I should. It's not even forcing. Like you make the readers or listeners understand your perspective and you will actually urge them to think in the way you are doing. And I really loved the right to protest when things go wrong

And even if he is heard, there would be action followed on to. So a question comes to our mind that what if the state is totally taken over by hostile elements who just want to destroy the society and the people and the morals which we think is right and want to kind of, you know, control the masses? And if the masses know it, and if they are suffering, how and what are the ways through which they can fight back?

Good morning. Apologies for the background noise. I've learned to live with it now. You are right. It's rather unfortunate in today's world of social media where you can reach out to anyone, literally anywhere in the world, where information is at your fingertips. There are no avenues for an individual, for a wronged person to reach up to the right authorities and question them or hold them accountable. You know, and not only that, government is governments
