Why Do We Think The Way That We Do? Cognitive Distortions Part 2

Hi everyone. I'm back with the part two in my cognitive distortion series. To recap a bit, these are thinking errors that occur due to our biases when we process information. These biases are mostly due to to the experiences that we have as a person or they could be heightened because of certain disorders at times. So we spoke about should statements and catastrophizing and now I'll be talking about something called mind reading and fortune telling

Hi Esha. That was a wonderful swell, as usual and it definitely helped me and I absolutely love to learn new things that you share. I just wanted to add that the thing you talked about mind reading and fortune telling, I feel that some of us can be programmed with this idea that I am right and we have this blind faith in whatever comes in our head

We ask them if they have any evidence for these feelings and more often than not, it's just an automatic negative thought that has come up without any factual basis. And even if there is a fact attached to it or prior experience or something like that, there's always something that can be worked on to make things better. So thinking about that, thinking about the solutions, can really help them decrease their stress and it can help them become more motivated towards doing those things, right?

That was a beautiful explanation and I'm really looking forward to collaborating with you if you feel resonated with that idea. Doing a self care where I could interview you and we could have some topic which we can discuss in parts or. You know. Depending on the concept or the discussion it is. And it would be an honor for me and I'm sure the listeners are going to enjoy it and learn a lot from it

Hi, Shaw. Thank you so much for that interesting information which you have given us on mind reading and fortune telling. Definitely these are the two most important and the most exciting topics which always, you know, strike my head and I always am very intrigued to understand what's more about it. So this was a great way of learning and I am hoping to listen more of you and many more parts of these readings very soon. So, yeah, thank you
