article image placeholderUploaded by @studio
You today I'm gonna continue the series on the top ten garage rock bands that saved guitar in the late 1990s and early 2000. And this is one of those bands. This is the hives. They're from Sweden. I think they're the only band on the list from Sweden. And as every other band, most of the guys knew each other and then brought in their friends. So there's nothing new there. What's new about this band is they're punk rock

Speechless

You're okay, man? You got me speechless. Hives are awesome. Hate to say I told you so, but the hives are awesome. See what I did there? Yeah. I mean, this is like everything that I would like in music. Get you gracing, get your heart going. It's a little annoying just punk rock, other bands that I like that kind of sounds like this. Because I think this has a different sound than like the Strokes

And then layered that right underneath the drone and mixed those two together so that it had that hissy walkman the end of the tape sound over the whole entirety of the three minutes. And that was before I had my vinyl plug in. And you know what? I've used that little piece of tape. Just a couple of minutes of recording time on a lot of projects to bring in a nostalgic or throwback feel to a recording. I guess there's 100 ways to skin a cat

Man, you just gave me some goosebumps. The way that you did that with the headphones, that's awesome. That's totally awesome. Thinking outside the box. I listen to actually Lo Fi Girl all the time. I put it on as background music when I'm doing work or trying to go to sleep or whatnot. And I totally dig acid jazz
