Resistance (a rondel form)

But that one in particular, I like the rhythm of it. I have a villanelle as well, which I've tried, and a couple of sonnets. I might share some of those, but yeah. Let me know if any of you have ever tried working with classical form, what your experience was, how it turned out. We could explore that a little bit more here. Thanks for listening

Playing with classical form poetry here… a rondel has set rules for syllables rhyme scheme repeating refrains over 13 lines a 3 stanzas. Lots of fun!

And I'm actually starting to think that maybe I should go back and start learning some of these more structured ways of writing poetry, just to add more to myself as far as how I can express artistically. I'm starting to feel like maybe the rebellious scene has kind of run its course for a while and maybe I should go back to learning some different things and actually implementing some of the rules and strategy for poetry. But I'm not sure. I don't know

And certainly in my part of the world, this is what we were taught in schools. We did a lot of this kind of classical stuff, and it was very boring and uninteresting to me at the time. But there are times when I find that perhaps I've run out of personal expression, but I still want to write. And so having to play with in the form is a different kind of discipline for your creativity

That's when I threw out everything structured. That's when I just decided, I don't care. I'm going to write what I write. I'm going to be what I am. And I'm not trying to be anything for anybody else. I think that's where the rebellion came in. And so now when I think about trying to do something in a structured way, my mind just wants to run from that

Greetings. I just listened to your piece, and it was magnificent. It was simply magnificent. It fell lushly as I listened, while I could feel the lines that corralled the structure that you were exercising. It was not a restrictive listen by any stretch. It didn't feel restrictive. I mean, for me, one of your most amazing gifts are the delicious imagery that you provide and how they clearly complement your impeccable delivery. It was a magnificent offering, my friend

Missy, thank you for listening to the poem and probably the thread as well. I kind of I've been thinking about the fact that you're a musician and the kind of freedom that exists within those kind of gentle boundaries, you know. And as a musician and I'm a big lover of music as well, but also kind of just energetically, that some of these forms kind of resonate with something. I don't know how to describe it
