Say It On Swell - NiketSays - What is my Creative Process? What Inspires me?

article image placeholderUploaded by @NiketSays
I remember for my movie Manzil which was released I guess in 2017 or 2018 the idea was simply that a person okay, there was a simple idea that a person is romanticizing a thought. I will not specify which thought because it kind ruined the movie for you because it will spoil the main crux of the movie. So I will just say that the idea of romanticizing a thought as a person gave birth to a movie. And same was with my first short movie Jump

Q.2 - What's the biggest challenge of shooting an independent film in India today?

So all of my movies so far have been zero budget art from only one payment that I made that was to the music composer for Manzil and that was worth it. It added an extra production value to the movie and I do not regret it at all. But also that was a big expense to be paid as compared to the whole budget of Manzille. And I would say almost 100% of the total money spent for Manzil was on the music. So the biggest challenge is finances

Filmmakers who have inspired or influenced my work.

Okay. So far, the amount of work that I have done is very, very, very low. In fact, close to nothing. So I think it will be hard for me to judge whether my work has been inspired or influenced by any established director or not. But, yes, the philosophy that I have for my filmmaking, it is derived from some of the interviews that I have seen of filmmakers like Angelina Van Sali, Rajamarani Anura Kasha, Karen Jahar and so on

Words of Wisdom (I did not make the questions:P)

So first of all, I would like to clarify in bold italics, underlined in capital letters that I am not someone in a position to provide words of wisdom as I don't consider myself wise enough in this field so far, as I myself am a beginner student of the craft of filmmaking and I just can't say what I have learned so far and what is going to influence me in my further decisions. The first thing is you must write as if you have each and every. Okay?

Hi Nikkith. I really enjoyed your swell cast and all the questions that you've answered. I think I rarely listen to a director's point of view. I think I'm very active, focused because that's the most glamorous part of the job, of course. But here in your creative process, it's so interesting and it's really made me interested in directing. One thing I'd like to ask you is that how do you deal with creative block? A lot of people have this

Whenever I see an empty paper in front of me, it is scary. It is really scary. But if you write one single word, it is not scary anymore. So if you ever encounter a creative blog, I will suggest you to try this and write anything. Even if you are thinking that you are not getting anything to write in your head, write this sentence that I'm not getting anything to write and keep on writing until you think like you're a gamer idea
