It's like, man, I can't even get past what your middle name is. And are we attracted to each other? Do we have chemistry? You can't put the cart before the horse. You can't get ahead of yourself. And I feel like girls my age, they know what they want, but then they jam it down your throat the first day that you go on a date with them. And there needs to be some happy medium somewhere. The dynamics are different and I would just like to be with somebody wiser than I am that has deeper understandings of life concepts. That just understands when X comes your way. Y happens or something else like that. And don't forget a lot of these viewpoints are also very warped by online dating. I don't have enough time outside of work to really go out and meet people. So I'm giving you the bird's eye view of what you see written on most people's profiles

I want to lean into something you said in your response to me, which was people there's this thought process that people might have lost their social skills from COVID and I want to expound and lean in on that. I have been on and off dating apps. I've done one at a time for a few weeks, and then after I evaluate the pros and cons of that particular app or site, then I get off of it

But again, when you go into a situation in any type of relationship and you are whole, you're not looking for perfection. You're looking for someone that you can relate with, someone you can grow with, someone that has a reasonable sense of responsibility and intelligence, can conversate on a different level and meet you where you need to be at the time that you need them to be there. So really there's not anybody that I'm going to date that's going to really win in that situation. But she would get drunk and throw kicks and all kinds of s***. And I met somebody right after I went from basically a very opinionated, verbally abusive person to somebody who just didn't talk. And it was kind of more of a physical relationship where I feel like we were repairing ourselves through physical activity, as you want to call it

I don't want to be with somebody that's just silent, that accepts whatever just for the sake of having somebody on their arm to show up to events to hang out with. Because basically that's what it is in family relationships. This is the person that you choose to hang out with even when your friends or your family are not there. You can hang out with this person and you have to have an understanding
