My country. Your country.

But, you know, we are more than just the oil. We are more than when, lass, you eat ex food or fruit. We're more than a product to push for the tourists who are seeking new adventures. We're more than poverty and mud and shacks and people in need of pity. We're more than hot chicks on TikTok and men trying to make you laugh with yellow memes on social media

I love this so much. What a wonderful piece. And I think probably most people feel this way about their country, that it's, of course, very different seen through the eyes of foreigners or from, I don't know. Yeah, through foreign eyes versus, you know, the local eyes. My country is not only beaches and tourism and naps and laziness

@rocio

Ro, what you've said here has really lifted my spirits because it reminds me of a phase I went through after I returned home. I used to live in one of the caribbean islands. And after I returned home, I used to compare my poor little country to developed countries. And one day I realized it was making me miserable and I had to stop living like this. And I started looking for the good things, and I felt better
