How do you feel when someone attacks one’s work without having the solid knowledge to back it? Synopsis vs review.

And Ironically, I looked up his letter box profile and he actually writes synopsis, so I found the instance rather funny. I didn't get annoyed or angry about it, but he made himself look kind of foolish because he didn't know the difference between a synopsis and a review, or he was just trying to be snarky and it's just a Miseducation or knowledge on what reviews are. Now. I'm not saying I write the best reviews

Talking miseducation and internet culture. When we are quick to judge or attack without education or knowledge behind it? Your thoughts on

Part 2

Okay, here's my part. Two, a synopsis may have some reviewing elements to it, but it's essentially a description of what the film is entails or what it's about. It doesn't offer any critical analysis or points on what makes it a good film or what makes it a bad film for lack of a better word. And that's essentially what a review does. Again, it's a subjective opinion, but it's your viewpoint. It's your analysis of the film

Part 3

Yes. Part three of my rant here. So if you don't have the basic fundamentals on what a review view is or that there's many different styles of a film review, then you shouldn't go attacking someone else's work. There's many different style reviews there's short form concise reviews. There's long form descriptive reviews. But each review entails one basic element, and that is critical analysis. And that's what this person did not understand

So frustrating!

It's designed to get hearts and likes and stars and boost everyone's serotonin. I can't think of an Internet platform that encourages constructive criticism. It's on the individual author or creator to say, hey, I'm putting something here, and I would like your feedback, and here's how I would like it. And I certainly know it's technologically possible to do that, and some people might even do that, but you don't

@Tim

But I can't specify this enough as they just did not have the education or the knowledge of a fundamental film review, and it just makes them look silly. That's where it's frustrating, because if you came at me and said, hey, your review doesn't give me a clear view of the film, why I would want to see it or why I wouldn't want to see it, then I wouldn't be so annoyed by that

@Tim

But I also give valid points of why you should see the film or why it's good or why you shouldn't see the film or why I didn't like the film. Synopsis don't do that. They don't require that. They're just a brief description of the film. And this person just clearly did not know the differences between review styles, review types. You could just tell other lack of knowledge. And that's just what frustrates me is lack of knowledge

What miserable thing happens in someone's life that they hate themselves that much, that they have to go online, find somebody's passion for something and something that they created and posted and s*** on it and bash it. I've never understood that f****** culture and excuse my swearing because it just makes me into a ranting lunatic because I'll never in my life understand that culture

But that being said, everybody's got a story and we can't know what it is. And there are people I know with mental illness, people on the autism spectrum who don't read social cues or are not fluent in etiquette in person or even online. And then sometimes English as a second language can play into it as well. But, yeah, I don't know. I think you're right

@Tim

Hey, Tim, thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I do put a lot of time in my reviews. Been doing them for quite some time and for about 20 years. So a lot of experience and a lot of practice. But I mean, there's a format to it, and not a lot of people that don't write them realize that there is a criteria in a format and you can get creative with them. But there is a solid format for them
