On the day of procession, the holy ritual of Cheerapahara is performed by the Royal Successor of Odisha. The deities are brought from the temple by the king and are placed on the chariot, but before placing them, the Royal Successor sweeps the chariot with a golden broom. He later decorates the chariot with flowers
You. Hi. Thank you so much for explaining us. Jagannath puri rath yatra. I have heard lots and lots of stories regarding Rathyatra, but I was not much sure about what is Rathyatra exactly. Why do they celebrate that festival? Recently, even in Hyderabad, in Iscon temple, they have celebrated this rathyatra. And one of my friend actually took part in Rathyatra. So even he was telling me about Rathyatra
