Separating the Artist from the Person

And it makes you think, of course, and you're stuck with, at least for me, you're stuck in that gray area of do I still listen and support this artist because of what they've done or what they've allegedly done? Or Can I get past that and just see that person for the artistry and the music that they create?

I can only inform my experience of it by understanding who made it and the history of it, kind of live with that. And I think engaging in conversations about it is really good. And that doesn't, I think, ruin neither the art nor the validity of whatever has gone down that's, like, wrong. Yeah. I don't know. This was really long winded, but I think I got to a place that I'm satisfied with. What do you think?

I appreciate that others take the time and make the time to view and listen to music, observe paintings, let poems speak into their being, into the night, into the morning, into the light. Just thank you for sharing this piece and thank you for listening to my thoughts on it. I really like this. Thank you

And I think to deepen this even more with listening to your reply, another thought popped in my head about what if not just listening or looking at the artist's work, if it's an art, if it's music, or if it's an actual piece of art, whatever it may be. What about when it comes to going to pay to see this person perform live? Are you wanting to actually contribute and pay to see this person perform live? That's a whole other thing
