The Beginning

What are the main areas of our lives that we talk about? Our dating lives, relationships, career, our pleasures, whatever our mental state is. Those are the things we seem to discuss all the time, because we just want to be in the right place, feel the right way, be happy, be joyful. Isn't that what we're all supposed to be striving for? At least I know that's what I'm striving for

Hi, Delma, and welcome to Swell. First of all, your name is beautiful. Your first name and last name, it just flows so nicely. I love it. And this is awesome. I'm so excited to hear your journal, as you call it, and I always find it so inspiring when people decide to change course in their lives at any point in their lives. But, yeah, I think it's always so life affirming when people pursue their passion

And I was going through a lot at that time in my life. I was taking care of my parents, who are now deceased now. So I've always wanted to start back up, but I just thought to myself, I don't like the technical side of podcasting. I just want to talk. I want to talk. I want to give thoughts. And I love the fact that you guys can get replies. I love it because it keeps the conversation going

I used to go to college for my major, used to be biology, but now I'm switching to English because I felt so pressured by my parents, who made your bio, go to med school, be a doctor, because that was their dream. And they started pushing that dream onto me because of one exam, one state exam. But now I finally convinced them to let me major in English, and I'm minoring in Law, Values and Principles

When I said, oh, I'm going to school for political science, I'm so excited. I love politics. I love history. And they're like, well, what are you going to do with that? What are you going to do with that degree? You can't get a job with that degree. And I'm thinking to myself, maybe she's making sense. But you know what? It wasn't supposed to happen at that time, and now I'm going for it
