They gave us a card with the phonetic spelling of our name. We handed that to the person who was announcing us, and then they gave us that rolled up piece of paper, which is not your real diploma, but they give you that and that's pretty much that. So I do understand the need to be time conscious. However, graduating college is not an easy feat. It's very difficult

And so I think that some of these celebrations during the receiving of diplomas kind of breaks up that seriousness a little bit and kind of keeps you entertained and keeps you laughing a little bit, makes things go by a little bit quicker. So I like it personally, and I'm sorry that these two young ladies I saw had to go through what they went through, but hopefully maybe these schools will realize that this is a very special moment and for some, they'll never experience anything like that again

And if your family is being silly and crazy, and if you're taking up half the ceremony, trying to do your little dance and everything, or give you a little speech, then you're taking the moment away from the other graduates. And that's why I say we have to be considerate of everybody. Don't want to take from anybody's moment. It's a special moment for everybody who is there, faculty included, and you don't want to take away from that
