Church Releases Member For Breaking Up Her Marriage, Social Media Posts, and Refusing Counseling

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
These are the same people you're worshipping with, and they are posting a lot of crazy stuff online, whether it's profanity, whether it's sexy attire, whether it's just really indecent stuff. I've been to church with people. And again, it's not about people policing your account. It's about you scrolling your newsfeed and seeing this stuff pop up on your newsfeed. Now, as far as the marriage piece of it, I don't know the ins and outs of it

Hey, Tanya, thank you for posting this. Well, yeah, I've never heard of anything like this either before. And they even attached her tithe money back to her. So I definitely give them credit for at least doing that. But it seems kind of weird because it's almost like it's a business or some type of transaction. And that's how I see churches nowadays. Like, it's mainly a business

For me personally, the social media post, I don't put too much stock in that because that's her personal social media. And you can't fault a church. What people post on social media. Like, I get it, I get it. People dominoes bring us off like six to eight. I get it. I get it that it can cause. It can cause shame or whatever on the church

But you know what, Lord? Unless you tell me to speak to her personally, I'm going to give it to you. Because you're the ultimate source of everything, of forgiveness, of compassion, of making a marriage work again. This is not my job, Lord, but your job. Let your will be done and be done with it. Because you gave it to the ultimate master. You gave it to God. There's nobody that can do better than him

Definitely a much bigger story going on here. And them returning the tithe. Churches are a business at the end of the day, just like colleges are a business at the end of the day. Churches need money to operate. They need money to pay their staff. They need money to build new structures. I guess if you want to look at church as a business from that perspective, I guess so. They rely on money to function and operate

And then maybe even them relieving her of her duties at church so that she can focus on getting herself together. And if she refused to do all that, and she's still just spitting out and posting half naked pictures and cussing up a storm and talking about getting drunk, smoking weed. And then on top of that, maybe she's not even divorced and she's running around with another guy. It's just a bad look all the way around

The chairs that you sit in, the walls that you see, the AC and heat that works, it thrives off of money, not magic. So consider it. I consider it gifts and offerings and such. But as far as the ancient true meaning of tithing, that's not really what it is here. I'm just keeping it real. The bills need paid to keep this building up

So I know what that feels like to have your post police. But my stuff wasn't. I wasn't posting anything indecent. Nobody was posting me dropping f bombs and stuff like that online while helping lead worship in church on Sunday. So I didn't have that type of issue. And again, from this letter, we don't know, but I don't think that they're pushing her into the wolves or anything like that

Because if I'm in a church and I'm going to church, I'm going to service, and now I'm getting ostracized by my choices, which are right in God. For people to say, this is not the godly way I can get that, but why would I want to go back to church? You got to leave people some type of clarity, some type of reason to want to continue their walk with Jesus. Really? I don't know. I don't see it

No, we didn't, because they were serious. And I think they're a serious congregation or serious leadership that takes their job seriously. Now, the social media part of it, I have to admit, it's annoying. I did this without even really thinking. I'm friends on social media with my older son, my parents, my pastors, a lot of people from the church. And I'm like, why did I do that?

I know churches that have had a couple of first ladies over the years because not that they're dying as the pastor divorces and remarries, there's a new first lady. I even know a female pastor has done the same thing. But I've never heard of a man being like, well, you didn't take care of your family. You walked out on your family. You got a whole new wife, whole new girlfriend. We need to separate from you

But, yeah, it's just crazy. But I agree that who's to say that this church, maybe this church doesn't handle everyone like this. Maybe this was a very extreme case. We don't know what this girl was doing. And regardless of what her husband was doing, that doesn't give you the right to have an adulterous affair. It doesn't give you the right to have an adulterous affair. You can separate from your husband

Hey, sis, you know what I was thinking, too, about them giving the money back. Clearly, she did probably exactly what they knew she was going to do. Run the social media, right? Take a picture of the check and the letter and post it for everybody to see. And the church obviously knew this was her mo, so they was like, listen, you're going to put us on blast

And if her husband can prove, if her husband can prove that she has boyfriend and they're still legally married, like he can show that there's no divorce papers have been filed with the clerk, then, yeah, that's grounds to take her down, right? If he can prove it, then, yes

Someone said here that Peter was a killer, but Jesus did not reject them. They did not reject them. They changed their lives along the way. So that is my opinion. But thanks for sharing and thanks for listening. Bye
