Are We Choosing Supplements over Healthy Eating?

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
And so supplements may be the thing that helps them get their iron up and keep it up if they are anemic, because they're not living in a place where they have access to dark, leafy greens that would provide that iron as well. So we have to be sensitive to that. But we also must take accountability and responsibility for trying to use nutrients to substitute a bad diet. They always say in the fitness world, you can't out train a bad diet

But of course, what happens a lot of time is whatever you drop, you have to use something else to get what you need in regards to proteins and things of that nature, but that's just an example. So again, I think based on people's circumstances in regards to their health, they probably go the supplementary route because they don't eat that actual vegetable fruit that they need

I think too many people are taking supplements that are eating food. And I think it's because the cost of food is so high that they'd love to eat a diet rich in iron and rich in this and rich in that. But there's just goes back to the conversation yesterday about dumpster diving. It's not out there

So I think a multivitamin will probably help because maybe I'm not absorbing what I need to absorb absorb in the fruit and the food that I'm eating, and then maybe I'm not eating what I need to eat. So I think that we're incorporating a little bit of both. I can't see how that would be a bad thing. And you didn't say it would be, but I do see an increase of us doing that. So yeah, this is a great swell

And I know that she was supposed to avoid organ meat, but she still liked chitlins and stuff. Lord Jesus. But yeah, I know that when you have special health circumstances, you do have to do things a little bit differently. But it's good that you have found your balance and that you have found a way to get the nutrients you need to avoid anything that may throw those balances off

Hey Brian, thank you so much for your response. And you're right. Food costs are causing people to have to make some difficult choices because unfortunately, healthier foods in the United States are more expensive than processed stuff that you can buy in a box. And so if a person has a limited income and a limited amount of money to spend on groceries, they're going to go the cheaper route

And so, whereas when we were younger, our bodies may have been more efficient in using certain nutrients, as we get older and our bodies age, we may not be able to absorb certain nutrients the way we used to, and we need a little help. And so, supplements are definitely good. I take magnesium, I take vitamin D, I take zinc, I take, there's one more goodness
