Do Men Really Know What "Natural" Hair and Makeup is?

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
Ever since I've had natural hair, and I've been natural since 2012, ever since I've had natural hair, I've had compliments from tons of men about my hair. Black and non black. Men have always complimented my hair in its curly state. But I think sometimes there might be a little bit of confusion to men as to what natural really is

Fake dreadlocks or fake weaves sewn into their hair, then I guess some of those guys out there nowadays, again, kind of hip to the game, and maybe they can notice what's fake and what's real. You know what I mean? Because like I said, you got these guys out there getting these weeds and whatnot, then they may be able to spot what you got. That's all I got to say. Night. Bye

And so I explained to him, I said, although this is my natural hair, like, this is my hair. I said, but my hair is not in this natural state. I straightened it. My hair, in its natural state is curly. And he was like, oh. I said, well, it's actually not curly. It's wavy. And he was like, oh, okay

And I don't wear makeup up, but I do. Let me know. But I do wear fake nails. I do. I wear fake nails and I wear press on nails. So you may see me this week with these nails on, but next week these probably won't be the same nails you'll see. You know what I mean? But I let them know that I do wear those, right? Because here's the thing

I've always been welcomed how I am. But that young lady, even if she does have bare minimum on that, is her natural. And I would have actually did the same thing, except for I would have wore just a clear lip gloss or a lip plumper. I have bath and bodyworks, has those lip glosses, and I'll use those. It gives you, like, a little bit of a shimmer. But she's very pretty. She's a very beautiful young lady

I mean, come on. See, some people do things and it looks nice, and then some people just take it to the extreme. I saw a girl with pink long eyelashes on the other day. I was like, come on, man. It's just. Come on. But like I said, just because I don't like it doesn't mean someone else won't love it

My thoughts

And somebody mentioned the fact that if you're talking to somebody, hopefully you're going to be able to talk to the same person the next day or whatever. It doesn't seem. And maybe some men do some things, but men just tend to be, this is who I am, love me or hate me. Men don't tend to go the extra mile when it comes to things like that because I think one of the biggest reasons is it's a lot of work to keep that up

And if you don't put on that makeup, am I still cool with you with the hair? Same thing. Most men have had experiences, or our guys have had some experiences. So most men who are speaking in that term is because they've experienced it or somebody close to them that they know. You may meet a girl. She's beautiful. With the makeup on. Two days later, you wouldn't be able to pick her out of a lineup

You know what? Honestly speaking, some women look good if they just wearing a scarf. Sometimes they might be going to the store. Kitha. Pair of jeans, some flip flops, a t shirt, and a scarf. Because women are beautiful. Women. Every woman is beautiful. Now, some beg to differ. But to me, every woman is beautiful. It's just that everybody can't see the beauty in them. Everybody have their own likes and predilections and desires, fine

And she has blue hair, and it's pretty. It's a pretty color blue. And I think it looks great on here. I mean, I don't know anything about coloring and all that other stuff, but she likes it. I think it's different, and it's cute. And kudos. Enjoy yourself

I'm just going off of what I've been noticing online. My overall opinion is that guys like what they like. Like, women like what they like. And liking hair that's kinky or, excuse me, rougher textures. Don't get much love. Just listen to the women with foreseea hair. Listen to their gripes online. You'll see what I mean. They like smoother, silkier hair. Listen to their music

They want you to take off your makeup and just look like the same you without the lip liner and the eyeliner and stuff like that. So thank you so much

Be Natural To You.

I was completely not thinking about the other caster who said that women are not saying that this is their hair. I didn't think that you had a choice to say, it's not your hair? Because I just kind of think everybody knows. So I didn't think that that would be a part of the conversation. I thought everybody knew. Knows you're wearing a braid. Everybody knows you're wearing a wig. They know that african american women don't grow their

And that's not necessarily saying natural equates not weave or natural equates not makeup or natural equates not lashes, just not the exaggerated coles or textures or things that don't naturally come out of your scalp in the spectrum of natural hair color or texture. Right. But that doesn't always mean not yours. I wear fake dreadlocks. Sometimes I had to stop because they're damaging. And I got so many compliments

Thank you so much for your response. I don't wear a lot of makeup because I work from home. And when I do wear makeup, depending on where I'm going, it can be minimal makeup or it can be, I like. I like bright lipsticks, and so if I want to put on a bright lipstick, but I don't do a lot of makeup. I do do my natural hair. I am wearing my natural hair right now, as a matter of fact

Hey, thank you so much for your response. Yeah, I think that men want natural looking versus natural. I'm being technical when I say natural looking versus natural. I don't think that men overall really care. And you do have some men that date women that wear heavy makeup and lashes and wigs, and they like that too. I mean, ultimately, I think if a man is attracted to you, he may prefer to see you as you are, but he'll take it

But yeah, us women, at the end of the day, we really make ourselves up for other women. Women are impressed by makeup. Men are not. Women are the ones that get caught up in these makeup tutorials and go crazy over these dramatic transformations. Men do not. The men are the ones that are like, really, like, what do you look like without all that on? Women are the only ones that are amazed by eyeshadow and contouring and all that stuff. That's it

It really is. But they do, they take on a dramatic new Persona because they now have red hair and because they now have long hair or an afro or whatever they got going on. So that cracked me up when you said that, because it's very true, and I've seen it myself. It's funny. But thank you so much for this

It. I think men say they want natural, but they don't mind women who wear extensions or wigs or whatever. They'd rather they have that than, you know, walk around with no hair, I guess, or short hair or, you know, what they consider not the silkiness or whatever. So, yeah, I think men say they want natural, but when it comes down to it, they really just don't want to know
