Companies No Longer Have Degeee Requirements

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
I think it's great that more companies are saying, you know what? Forget the bachelor's, forget the associates, forget the master's degree. What can you do for me now? And that's what's really important. It's like, do you know how to do this job? Have you done this before? What is your experience? Can we see your portfolio? What do you have to show us that you have the skill set required to do this job?

They will accept experience. #work #career #college #

People should be reading books, studying history, studying science, and eventually it's just a matter of time. We're now getting to the point where thankfully a degree isn't that important and people can actually shine on their own merit and not with the certification of some institution. It's hampered me a lot in my life. But yeah, this podcast with Mark Andreessen is incredible. And also it should inspire people to know if you don't like your job, you don't like your life

But because of previously, you had to have a degree to be hired because of that, this category were not able to find a job at a high level because every time the diploma is required. Now, if they break the cycle of not requiring the diploma, then it will be not requiring the degree. These people can show what they know how to do. There are people who have a paper, but they don't know anything

I don't know, I just feel like one of the reasons that they're doing this, like these companies are doing this is because these companies are doing this is because college has just become attainable to pretty much everybody. It's not how it used to be. I feel like back then, college and higher education was for people who had it, those who came from successful families, those who had connections, but now it's not necessarily the same

And so you could say, just have a bachelor's or just have a master's, and you get this job. And now people are getting bachelor's masters online in a fraction of the time, and people are like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. They don't want to just give a job, even if the person may be skilled in it, even if they have a degree that aligns with the type of work that they'll be doing

So she was going to school, but she was gaining actual hands on skills, which is why she basically turned out pretty well. So, yeah, this is a great swell. I would love to encourage everyone not to go into debt. At the same time, if you really, really want a degree and it's part of your dreams, you always wanted a degree. Then go for it. Just be prepared for the cost. As with anything in life, be prepared for the costs

Why? Because I have the experience. Because I have the know how. Because I put the time in. So I just think we have to think about that. And I'm glad to see that companies are thinking about that more often because it is something that's important. It's important conversation to have, because for so long, people have been looked on
