Man Makes TikTok About Living in a Storage Unit and then gets Evicted.

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
Full of technology, meaning that anybody can find out just about anything about you if they want to, including the fact that you are living in a storage unit. I feel bad for him and the young lady because I guess now they're homeless. If they were living there, that means they had nowhere to live. So they are now homeless. But at the same time, a storage unit is not zoned for residents. It's not zoned for people to live in there

I teach people this when I teach, I most recently did this with high school students and I talked about getting prepared for the workforce. I did include you don't know who sees your post. And if you don't think a potential employer is not checking your Facebook, think again. And a lot of young folks are not on Facebook. But if you don't think they're checking your TikTok and other social media, they are. They are. And they can find you

Because people online were getting upset at this other content creator because he was talking about the videos, and they're like, well, you're snitching on him. And the dude was like, I'm not snitching on him. He snitched on himself by making the video. Like, he made the video. The video went viral. He snitched on himself. And I'm like you. I tell my children that. I tell my children all the time, stop putting everything on social media. Everything

Gen X= we say nothing!

It ain't none of your business. We only say what we want to say to prove a point once it's already done. We're not going to incriminate ourselves in nothing. You will not know what is going on with us until we want you to know. And by that time, it has been long past. And they're like, oh, we're so sorry that happened to you

Lady five. I'm cracking up at you because this is so true. And even when I go on vacation, I post about vacation after I get back, if I'm going to post anything and I'm not telling you everything, but I'll post it after I get back. So people be like, oh, how's the weather there? I'd be like, oh, that was two weeks ago. And that's mostly for a safety issue. But it's other issues, too

So yeah, this is a very interesting story. I feel bad for them, but this is yet another example of just be quiet. Like when OJ wrote that book, what if I did it? What if you shut up? If you did do it, why are you talking about it? I don't understand this generation. I really don't the need to tell everything to everybody

Nobody on your job, nobody at church, none of your friends, none of your family. No. We tell that story 510 years down the road after we've been living in a house or an apartment for quite some time. And the storage unit thing is far in the rear view. That's when we start telling the story about the storage unit stuff. We don't tell the story of the storage unit while we're living in the storage unit. I mean, I get it

But in restaurants, yeah, I've worked in restaurants where we've taken food home and we weren't supposed to, but I ain't tell nobody. Oh, my gosh. We would just bag our little stuff up, we'd make it look nice and clever, or we would buy something cheap, put it in a box, and then stuff a bunch of other food in there with it. I mean, we would do all that stuff, but we didn't tell nobody about it

And I used to see people I know all the time living there. Okay, that's your personal business. It's a difficult situation. But all this going viral nonsense, people are willing to risk it all just for 15 minutes of fame. They're willing to risk their living circumstances, their jobs, their ministries, their marriages, their children

Yeah, I agree with you. I thought about living in my storage unit a few years ago. I probably will do a swell about this because I've been meaning to do one anyway. But I thought about living in the storage unit. But for me, it was one of those outside storage units, so that wasn't feasible. Although it wasn't the summertime. I just still wasn't

We look at another social media video a couple of weeks ago someone in I'm not good at math right but I'm going to say they probably had a 100 square foot apartment. You literally walk in the door, there is the living room, there's the sink, there's your bathroom. No type of barriers, no doors, no separation like everything is all in one place. Like a typical small house. Bathroom was probably bigger than this whole apartment

They're repurposing their vans and trucks and living in RVs and campers and yes, I don't know if it's a sign of the times with the economy and the housing market being as ridiculous as it is and people being priced out of rentals and things nowadays. So folks are just becoming more creative with the housing, or if people are just finding more innovative ways to have housing without having to pay rent, without having to pay for electricity and different things like that
