IG: It’s Offensive To Wish For a Healthy Baby

article image placeholderUploaded by @MsColes77
But like I said, we know that parents we know that kids are born without with health issues. And yes, it's extremely overwhelming for parents, it's disheartening for parents to have a child that has health issues. However, why be offended at a mother who wants a healthy baby? That's what you wanted too. And so the comments were just lit with people saying, I'm the mother of an unhealthy baby and they deserve to be equally loved

I will also say this and no disrespect to anyone, especially those who are raising children with special needs. I worked in education for almost 20 years, so I do know that needs vary across the board with our children. I'm also a mother, so I get it. My boyfriend's son has autism, so I get it, I get it, I get it. However, even to critique someone for wanting a healthy baby shows our entitlement

It seems like media has entered a vicious cycle where anger is fueling the whole industry. So people gets angry and they share that kind of news. They comment on them, they make it more popular so that more people get angry and they continue to get attention. So it is a very complicated subject because there are a lot of people involved and the ones who are talking are the ones who make this wheel to keep rolling. But yes, I totally agree with you

You're already nervous about how the baby is going to be or what's going on with the child, and then to compile that on top of that, that's rude. Okay, thank you so much for inviting me to this. Well, that's just my side of it

SIS you're right. There are some children in other nations that are abandoned and orphaned because they have disabilities. And they grow up in these orphanages and group homes being cared for by strangers because their families did not want them because of their disabilities. So in America, we're quite fortunate to have extensive levels of medical care, health care for a plethora of conditions. But people in other nations are not that fortunate. And so, yeah, a lot of disabled children get abandoned in these other nations

Unfortunately, however, that's not society's fault that your child was born this way. But I think that with social media putting so much in our faces all the time, people just get so frustrated and angry, and they start comparing their lives to strangers whom they'll never meet, and they start forming opinions and judgments about people's lives based on a two minute reel. I don't even know if it was that long. A two minute reel about wanting a healthy baby

And so I don't think any mother should put themselves under pressure to do something you can't control. You can't control it. But it just speaks to how fragile our society has become, to the point where you don't know what's going to set people off. You don't know what's going to trigger people. You don't know what's going to cause backlash. You just don't know

So I prefer that kind of videos where you can be happy. As for this topic and the mother, I just hope she have a wonderful baby, a healthy wonderful baby, because that's what everyone deserves. And of course, as you said, it is not always the case. There are unfortunately sick babies and congenital diseases and genetic diseases

And unfortunately, if you put it out there, whether you agree that people have the right to make comments about it, if you put it on social media, you've opened yourself up for the comments, whether negative or positive. And I know everybody doesn't agree with that, but that's just the world we live in now. You can make your posts private so that only your friends and family see it. And then that know, you'll get all the positive comments you can do

Now, I have seen situations where doctors advise abortions in situations where there's a high chance that your child is going to be born with some type of congenital problems. But I've also seen situations where parents were told, your child is going to be born with this. They're going to have these abnormalities, these anomalies, and we recommend abortion. And these families stood on their faith and they trusted God and said, no, we're not going to do it

Both of them make it through the delivery. My mother died in childbirth, bringing me to life. But if you want to be honest, I would have rather her still been here so she could still raise my brothers and sisters. Three boys and one girl. But they was able to save me instead. And my father was broken hearted, but he said the baby is healthy. Is the baby healthy?

So I'm not an advocate for abortion. To be perfectly honest, and to be perfectly frank with you, I believe that when a person has a miscarriage, that's God's way of saying, yes, this baby was formed, but this baby, it's not the right time for you to have this baby. So in essence, God I don't want to say God gives them an abortion, but he takes the baby away from them for whatever reason. Maybe the person isn't ready
